5.0 out of 5 stars I, too, am surprised at the negative reviews
I've also had my Cybersonic for 3 years. I've never had a single problem with it.

After 3 years, the built-in rechargeable battery is starting to lose its life, and I'm not sure how to replace it. But, it can still run for 5-10 minutes on one charge, so it's probably got at least another year of life in it. It's lasted longer than my cordless phone battery,...

We are on our second package of replacement brushes for the Cybersonic 2, and they tend to fall off their base. One of the brushes lost its bristles as it was used.

It's lasted longer than my cordless phone battery, so who can complain?

I've never had a problem with the brush heads. In fact, they last much longer than the literature indicated they would. Hint: put them in the dishwasher at least once a week to disinfect & prolong the life (top shelf). Maybe the reviewers below ordered generic replacements?

For me, this has been a terrific investment. I just keep ordering replacement brush heads from Amazon or eBay, and when the Cybersonic dies, I'll definately buy another one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprised by the negative reviews, December 13, 2005
This review is from: Cybersonic C239 Cyberspring Replacement Brush Heads (2 Brush Heads) (Health and Beauty)
I'm very surprised by the negative reviews. I've owned this
toothbrush for about 3 years now--I got it when I got braces. It
worked great then, and it continues to work great. I've never had
a problem with the brush heads snapping off (are you putting a
lot of pressure on it? You shouldn't need to.), nor with bristles
coming off while I am using it (I find it very hard to believe
anyone is having a recurring problem like this). I've never had a
single problem with this product, and think it is one of the best
TV infomercial products I have ever seen. I live in fear that I
will have to go back to a manual toothbrush.

4.0 out of 5 stars good and bad, April 22, 2006

This review is from: Cybersonic C239 Cyberspring Replacement Brush Heads (2 Brush Heads) (Health and Beauty)
The brush is great and I love that its a full head, not those lame tiny round ones that cover one tooth at a time. The battery does fade after a few years, but what battery doesn't? I just keep it plugged in 24/7 and if I do travel its only unplugged for 8 or less hours. That seems to work.

The heads do tend to pop off on mine, even w/ light pressure on, but my boyfriend got one too and has no problems, even after all these years. I think that the negative reviews and I bought a bad batch. Every company makes a lemon batch, they are generally pulled, but this is a minnor defect that it slipped by. Thats not bad business. The base part where it snaps on is a bit too small, at least on mine.

I've adapted to my flawed brush and hold it at where the two connect, keeping it from popping off. It fits my hand better that way too, but I have small hands. So it actully works for me.

Replacing the heads isn't based on the brush wearing out or bending shape, its based on the bacterial build up. Remember what its doing. As a bio major, I've seen plenty of cheek swabs and their contents. Not for the weak stomach. That collects on the brush head and over time becomes ineffective. Thats why you replace the brush every 3 to 4 months.

Every once in a while, you can soak the head in H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) to help clean it better, that is safe and hygienic. The dishwasher is NEVER suggested. The detergent used is to harsh for oral hygiene products. Soap does not equal soap. Dishwasher, sink washing, laundry and hand washing all use different soaps for a reason.

Final results, great brush and worth the money (unless you bought a flawed one thats really no ones fault and a minority).

I too am on my 2nd replacement head...it keeps falling off the base after a couple of times. Defective Product! Very disappointed! Sort of in a bind since I invested so much money in the Cybersonic Toothbrush.

I bought this toothrbush a few years ago and it worked great for a few weeks, until something funny started happening in the middle of my brushing. The damn toothbrushes would snap off!! I would have toothpaste all over my face and i'd be wondering how the hell a farely new toothbrush which cost 10 BUCKS to replace snap off so quicky?? then I read the reviews. What a waste of a good invention. This product should have been banned, but they duped the TV viewers. they've duped the public into buying a 100 dollar toothbrush with a flawed design. what a disgrace!!
