Product Description

DEVELOPED WITH MIDWIVES AND ORTHOPEDISTS. The CYBEX 2.GO offers the possibility to carry the baby in 5 different carrying positions, so you can always find a natural way to have your baby with you. The bonding that occurs through this has a very positive effect on the baby's development. Babies that have been carried a lot tend to be calmer and more content. . COMFORT FIT SEAT. The seat on the 2.GO carrier can be adjusted for optimal comfort for the baby. The width of the seat area can be adjusted to a wide seat with support under the thighs for a small baby, providing support to relieve pressure on the hips during the first couple of months. Later on, the seat area can be reduced to allow carrying the baby facing forward and exploring the world. The 2.GO can also be adjusted to carry your baby on the hip and on the back. . CARRYING COMFORT. Just as important that the carrier is comfortable for your baby, is that it's comfortable for you to carry the baby. Thanks to the wide padded hip belt, 70% of the weight is absorbed by the strongest part of your body, the hips, in the same fashion as well constructed backpack. Together with the ergonomically shaped and padded shoulder straps, you will experience a great carrying comfort with minimal weight on your shoulders. CYBEX baby carrier combines fashion with great function. Babies that are carried are usually calmer, as the physical contact promotes basic trust. The bonding that develops between baby and the parent has also a positive effect on her mental development. Carrying your baby is a truly wonderful and totally natural experience!. From 8 to 44 lb.

I have tried numerous infant carriers and here's what I noticed. Either it has great Lumbar support and not so great carrier section for baby (or doesn't put baby in suggested seated position with legs not dangling downward), OR it has great baby carrier section and not so great lumbar support.

In the case of this carrier, it has a really nice carrier section for baby. The material is padded, provides excellent support for baby' bottom, back, neck and head, and is fully adjustable. However, because the back strap fastens both shoulder straps together from the top section of your back, it does put more of a strain on your shoulders and neck and does not distribute the weight evenly. My baby weighs 20 pounds so it may be more noticeable for me than for you if you have a lighter infant. Also the shoulder straps have several snap buttons (so you can adjust the back strap)that can be felt on your back while you wear it. I wish they would have padded those areas. This is a design flaw to me. If it had better lumbar support and was not missing padding in small areas where snaps are, I would have given it 5 stars. But I do still like it and it is really comfortable for my baby.

I decided to give it 4 stars for the construction on the infant carrier and this is why I decided to keep it. It seemed the best one for my baby and I have figured out a way to alter it by sewing to fix the issue.

I too needed a carrier that allowed my daughter to face out -- she goes crazy when faced inward. She was about 4-1/2 months when we started looking for Baby Bjorn carrier replacements (my back was killing me!). We tried the Ergo, but I had completely missed the part in the description where it said the baby can't face outward (oh that's right, it DOESN'T say that... I needed to read the reviews more carefully to find that. Damn sneaky marketing folk!). I researched the other options and decided to try the Cybex, and we love it.

My husband wears her around while he does housework like vacuuming, dusting, laundry, etc. and has no problems with his back hurting or anything. He keeps the waist strap very secure, so his hips carry most of the weight which takes the load off his back/shoulders. The baby seems to be very securely strapped in and while you can't do heavy stuff (mopping, anything that requires a lot of squatting or bending over), you can still get a lot done around the house while wearing your baby. :) We took her to the mall while wearing it too -- worked great for standing and walking quite a bit.

Pros: Padded straps, the removable/washable bib (I have a teether so she chews on it a lot), the zip-out sections for growth. Cheaper than similar high-end outward-facing carriers. Easy to get baby in and out of, in my opinion, though I do strap her in while standing over a soft surface like the bed or while seated on carpet.

Cons: I'm not a huge fan of the buckle behind your neck. it's hard to buckle when you're by yourself, and even though they recommend buckling it in front of you and slipping it over your head, it's hard to do. My husband usually helps me with it. But it's not enough of an inconvenience to send it back.

Overall, a great purchase, and we are loving it!

This baby carrier is way better than Ergo, because you can also face the baby out!!!

My friends with Ergo carriers all wanted this one instead! No more older baby straining their neck around to see the outside world!

This baby carrier is really comfy on your back as well. We used it around home and around town on the chest, and used it for hiking with the baby on our back.

This carrier is popular in Europe, but only available at high end baby retailers in the States. Great for our newborn (includes insert) facing in on the chest and is good for toddlers up to 40 lbs.

We got the stylish black, which we love because it matches everything. Looks great on Mom, and Dad thinks is looks cool (not girly) too so he doesn't mind wearing it too!

Wife and I tried a bunch of these carriers. We have ones from Safety First, Baby Bjorn, and another brand I cannot remember. Of all these, not only were they cumbersome, but they didn't hold the baby in any natural manner, that seemed comfortable. We actually opted and used the Chinese "old-school" quilted ones that were used over 30 years ago... we tried the more contemporary versions that are fashionable, but they were very impractical due to the small main square, and the very narrow straps that just dig into your shoulders. They just don't make them like they used to. However, these are more complex to put on, and well let's face it, dated.
When we saw the Cybex 2 Go, we knew we had a winner. For newborns, it's not very good. It's just too big and cavernous(Baby Bjorn fits this void). However, our girl was about a year old when we got this and there were just times we wanted her on our back. Our girl is slender and tall, so I have to say the expanding bottom and neck, aren't of much use yet. At that age, she was about 16-18 lbs, and this fit her well, it fit us well.
It's not flashy or eye-catching like a sequin dress would be if worn to a poetry reading.
The straps could have more padding, slightly, but it's current design is tastefully practical and modern.
We have the black model with crimson stitched embellishments. The branding is "there" but not "in your face" like all the others. We don't feel like walking monikers.

What is so-so, is the chest strap design. Depending on your physique and child's size, it bunches, twists, and becomes somewhat unsightly. Having said that, Cybex has done a far better job and its competitors. It's just that it cannot adjust up or down, and laterally the strap is just not that long to begin with.
