Hey, it's as good as any standard ... flick. It is hard not to laugh at most of the cuts here. Listening to people supposedly have sex and/or ... is an interesting listen the first time around. I bought mine when it originally came out back in '93. The disc also contained a blue Cyborgasm condom and some cardboard glasses that you were supposed to wear (called "Eco-Glasses") to keep out the light while listening. It became a novelty item quickly, and I used to mix parts of it into various club tunes when I used to DJ. It's at least good for that, even though the ... techno tune idea has been done to death by now. Parts of it do pique the occasional aroused interest, but for the most part Cyborgasm is good for a giggle.

Cyborgasm is a deluxe experience for those adventourous souls who are searching for audio eroticsm that goes far beyond the typical hot chatting and moaning. For those who crave a bit of spice with their adventures with others or themselves, this CD will satisfy your audio hankerings. The CD contains a wide variety juicy vignettes from 30 seconds to 8 minutes long which is bound to push the limits of most peoples experiences. It is a playfully and daring CD which will arouse the tenderest heart. there is a dearth of products that fit this category of this quality, and I can only hope that they will continue to create even more daring pearls of audio eroticism for the masses. Definitely for those who have voeyeristic desires and can imagine satisfying them with a CD. Wonderful for people of both sexes and most preferences, except for the faint of heart. Nearly performance art in some respects, ripe and sweet in others. It is definitely forbidden fruit that worth a bite!

I co-produced both Cyborgasm 1 and 2 albums with Lisa Palac in 1991-93, during the years when we thought Virtual Reality was going to change the world. Our goal was to produce the worlds first XXX -3D - CD. The audio recording technology we used, which I dubbed "Virtual Audio", was a digitally enhanced binaural mic technique. As with other binaural recordings, playback was intended to be over headphones. It says so on the CD packaging. Playing these albums over regular speakers will just sound like crappy quality stereo... slightly blurry and hollow... the equivablent of watching a 3-D movie without the 3-D glasses on. Remember to put this album into the proper time context... we made it 8 years before "Sex in the City" helped to change mainstream attitudes toward women's sexual empowerment. It was also a time when sexual attitudes had been traumatized in the aftermath of AIDS epidemic. Our goal was to produce an innovative recording that was equal parts erotic, funny, smart, campy, sexually explicit and gender balanced - intended to be listened to in the dark, in a quiet place and to appeal to both women and men. So take it for what it is... a piece of erotica history... with attitudes that represent the era it was recorded. But I gotta say, even today, the Virtual Audio emersive 3-D effect will blow you away if you listen to it on a good pair of headphones with your eyes closed.
