This is a first quality, tough plastic mold made by one of the leading manufacturers of candy and soap molds in the United States. It is durable and reusable. Made of clear, environmentally friendly PETG plastic. Not for use with hard candy. Cannot be washed in dishwasher. FDA approved for use with food preparation. Not suitable for children under 3.
Fun to use, we recreated the old 80's candy bar Alpine white with it, only reason it isnt 4-5 stars is because we used the molds as the card stated and the chocolate still stuck to the molds. Otherwise a good product.

I got these for my daughter's science project. She needed molds to make concrete tiles. The mold worked reasonably well for this application. The plastic was pretty easy to clean and reuse. The flat surface of the mold made it easy to screed off and level the concrete in the mold. I didn't use any oil or other lubricant to line the surface of the mold to make the object easier to remove and some breakage of the concrete in the corners occurred. This didn't matter in my daughter's application.
Some general observations: 1. The mold is a hard, thin plastic and it bends easily when you pick it up at the edges after it is filled, so be careful to slide it from one surface to another. 2. If perfect edges are important, use some kind of oil or other releasing agent to prevent the molded objects from chipping in the edges and corners when removing. 3. This mold would work well for a stiff cookie dough or thick paste that you can push into the mold and then slice off (or skim off) even with the top.
I don't know how the plastic performs when heated because I didn't heat it or use it with a hot filler.

I feel absolutely cheated after buying this product. The picture is very deceptive, at first I thought it would be like a baking sheet. When I got the product I thought I had received the plastic protector. Never buying from these people again.

Hi. If you look at the buyer's photo, the mold looks metal. Doesn't it? That's because the seller has cleverly put the CLEAR PLASTIC mold atop a black background. Rest assured, this mold is PLASTIC
