Great quality, nice solid collar.

You need a handle to act as a lever to generate enough force to pot the bottle cap off.

The one thing missing is a separate metal ring to which one would attach a lead.

I bought this for my dog because it looks super durable, which it is. However, this collar is backed with rubber (from a recycled bike tire?) and I think the grip of the rubber either pulled out or wore off my dogs hair underneath the collar, so she had this weird line of no hair around her neck. We retired it after that. The collar also is pretty heavy, and the buckle hard to clasp. The few times we used the bottle opener it didn't really work because 1. The dog doesn't want to sit still while you have something that close to it's face, and 2. You need a handle to act as a lever to generate enough force to pot the bottle cap off. You kind of end up choking the dog while trying to get your beverage open. I don't know if it's meant to be taken off the dog first? But it doesn't indicate how the bottle opener is supposed to work. It's a gimmick that isn't really practical. I give it 2 stars also because these collars are expensive, and come it really ugly patterns.

I had this collar for one day and it's already lost. I was a little hesitant about it because the buckle seemed to be too easy to snag on something and fall off. Sure enough, after I ran my dog, the collar was gone. It's a great idea and probably would be fine for dogs that are not active. I would not recommend it to anyone who has a high energy, active dog that runs around a lot. I probably wouldn't have cared so much if the collar wasn't so expensive.

We needed a waterproof collar for our dog, and this fit the bill. Love the metal buckle (I've had the plastic snap buckles break at the worst moments- not fun!). This has lasted 2 years on our dog (would have lasted longer, but the dog has since passed), so I thought I'd write a review. On our other dog, the collar we first got her (different brand) lasted a couple months before I had to toss it. I decided to get another one of these, and it's been a year and a half and it is still going strong. This dog is VERY active and rough plays with another friend-dog, runs, swims, rubs all over our couch, and this collar is somehow still intact and hasn't come off. It does flip sometimes so that the rubber is on the outside, but no big deal. Every once in awhile I wash it with soap, and it is good as new! It's great when we are camping and forget the bottle opener too ;)

If the reflective ones are available- get it! Love being able to see our dog at night. Also, we use a harness on walks, but I can see that it doesn't have a designated ring to attach your leash to. Gotta use the bottle opener I guess.

Overall, it is a little more expensive than some other collars, but well worth it if you never buy another collar again! I've been a dog owner for the past 12+ years and tried a lot of collars, and this is by far the best that I've had.

I bought this for my step-dog. She hasn't had a new collar since she entered adult hood.

After I put it on her, she pranced around the house. She showed her collar off to her Daddy when he arrived home that day. At the dog park and in meeting friends, she still shows it off. She's so very proud of her amazing collar.

Oddly enough, she has also made leaps and bounds in accepting me as part of the pack. I'm sure my interactions have changed also, but hey, if it takes a collar to win her over, I'm all for it.

As far as quality, this is a heavy duty collar. It is NOT coming off. This dog is not going to run off, play in the woods, or have an opportunity for the collar to get snagged. If she were a more active dog, I wouldn't allow her to keep the collar, I'd want her to have a breakaway collar.

CycleDog makes some very nice dog collars. And the Pup Top bottle opener is a fun way to show your friends that your dog really is man's (or woman's) best friend.

The seatbelt clasp is reliable and shaped so that the dog is not likely to catch it with a toenail while scratching and unclasp it.

The only gripe I have is the ring for ID tags is not near the buckle, so the tag sits along the side of the dog's neck. Looks funny, that's all. Of course, you *could* use the Pup Top ring, but then you won't be able to use it to open your favorite adult beverages.

This is clearly a durable collar - should stand up to lots of use and abuse. Heavy, with strong metal fittings. Hard to see where the points of failure could be.

The one thing missing is a separate metal ring to which one would attach a lead. I think the expectation is that the bottle opener is where you would attach a lead, but it's a slightly awkward setup, especially when the collar is adjusted to its smallest diameter - such as would be the case for a smaller dog, or a puppy. Once the dog grows and the collar is expanded, this problem is somewhat mitigated, but could be eliminated altogether if a separate and distinct metal ring was added to attach a lead.

Otherwise, a very good product, that I anticipate will last for a long time. Plus, I think the reflective green color is pretty jazzy.

I thought I would like the belt buckle clasp but I don't. It is too difficult to open and if the dog ever got caught on something it would be impossible to open.
