A Cheng Shin Tire,

This review is from: CyclePro Swiss Army 26 Inch x 1.95 Inch Wire Blackwall (Sports)
This is a Cheng Shin tire - it's imprinted on the tire. Kinda odd that the description omits this detail.
I like the tread pattern. The center has a continuous raised pattern - good for asphalt riding; and wide sturdy-looking side knobbies - good enough for cornering. Knobbies look spread out enough to provide good traction on rocky terrain. Time will tell. I will install this tire in the rear of a dual suspension mtn bike. This tire will see 80% asphalt and 20% trail riding. Depending on how the tire performs, I will return in 6 months or so to update this review.

While I was between fixed gear rides (this should give you some insight), I rode around a mtn bike I had lying around. After about a week, I had skidding through the tire (said mtn bike was not mine). I bought this one to replace it. I haven't ridden the bike since my new track bike came, so I'm not sure how it handles. I may start using it if there's an ice storm. I can handle anything but ice with slicks on my track bike.

"VersaTrak" Like Thread Profile.,
This review is from: CyclePro Swiss Army 26 Inch x 1.95 Inch Wire Blackwall (Sports)
Yes, this is good news for those who loved the "VersaTrak" thread profile that somehow disappeared from the Performance "Forte" line of tires. These are rolling superbly on pavement and still have plenty of knobs/grip for off Road. They are also very inexpensive and durable. This copycat from Chinese motorcycle tire manufacturer "Cheng Shin" doesn't have the Kevlar bed, but some wire bed instead. (The "VersaTrak" used to have two version; /K for Kevlar and wire; regular wire bed might not be as "flatproof" as Kevlar, but if, like me, you are using "slime" in your inner tubes, it doesn't really matter.) Enjoy!!!!
