I love the larger flywheel option.

Again, I cannot speak to the longevity of the resistance unit, but if it holds up, this trainer is without a doubt five stars.
Kmax
It was a snap to set up, is very quiet and has all the resistance I need.

I just love my new Cycle Tek trainer. I've been swamped at work lately,so my outdoor training rides have been limited. I set up my new Cycle Tek and have been pleased with it's performance. I live in an older house with uneven floors so the adjustable legs are great. The six point leg system works great for me since I'm 250+.The ride is smooth and quiet.I love the larger flywheel option. I recomend this trainer to anyone looking to up their fitness during the winter months. I give it high ratings on stability, noise(or lack of),price, warranty and ease of use. Cycle Tek has set the new standard in indoor trainers. I look forward to putting hundreds of miles on it.

GREAT Trainer.
Assembled quickly, smooth ride, LOVE the large flywheel. If you're a cyclist then this is the trainer for you.
the acceleration and coast down are very realistic - just like riding outdoors.

I bought the riser ring too (they call it a hexagon ring) and guess what? it's a hexagon! and it does not slip or slide around. I tossed the other brand right out.

don't second guess this trainer; just buy it

If you produce high watts training this may not be the trainer for you. The first M1 I'd average 19-20mph and it starting making clicking/tapping sounds after an hour. Swapped it for a new one since its under warranty, service was fast, but now the new one is doing the same sound after putting 80miles on it. Instead of wanting a third replacement i just requested a refund.

Customer Support said the set screw is loose and needs to be cranked back into place, hints the clicking sound. If CycleTEK improves the set screw in the roller this item will be a great purchase but for the price and multiple returns I'd rather get a different brand and pay a few more dollars the have to always tighten the set screw.

The trainer was quiet off the start but once the set screw comes loose its a different story.

Purchased the trainer in 2012, but rarely rode it (3X) because of hamstring tendinosis. Been training on it with Trainer Road this winter and after only 7 workouts, the clicking/ vibration noise mentioned in a previous review is noticeable. Customer service immediately responded and is sending a resistance unit (have not received it yet) that is supposedly "new and improved." Prior to the noise issue, the trainer was solid, smooth and a pleasure to train on (as far as indoor training goes). If the new resistance unit solves the problem, I think this trainer feels better than the Kurt Kinetic.

Update: I received the unit, but because of a mixup, I was sent some additional merchandise free - exceptional customer service. As expected, the new unit is performing well. It (the new resistance unit (m1-002)), accepts their 12 lb flywheel, and I personally think it is incredible. The unit is very quiet - easy to have a conversation if you'd like while training, but easy to hear movies, music etc. Once you get going on the flywheel, the additional momentum makes for a smoother ride, but it is easier on the knees (or mine at least). My power numbers are more consistent at a given cadence. With the 7lb flywheel alone, power numbers would jump a little, though my cadence would read the same. I'm not sure, but I think all their units now come with the m1-002 unit, but I would ask if you are considering purchasing the trainer. Again, I cannot speak to the longevity of the resistance unit, but if it holds up, this trainer is without a doubt five stars. And as I've said, customer service is excellent, and they stand behind their product. Also, if you couldn't tell from photos, the frame is rock solid and adjustable.

Update 3/24/2014: After a few months riding on the new resistance unit approx. 3.5 to 4 hours a week, it has begun to leak. Getting a new unit. Customer service is excellent, but I'm starting to question the longevity of the product.

Just got the CycleTek fluid trainer and love it. It was a snap to set up, is very quiet and has all the resistance I need. The price was right in Amazon so I as I was researching fluid trainers this was the best deal plus had good reviews on other websites and bike magazines.
I was impressed enough to purchase it and very glad I did! It is well made, is stable with six stable floor contact points, is very quiet even with road tires (just ordered a Vittoria trainer tire) and has a 7lb flywheel along with the fluid resistance unit - works great! Only used it three times so far and can't wait to get the trainer tire as I read it is even more quiet using one.
Also got the CycleTek riser block for the front wheel which stabilizes the wheel and has three height settings to raise the front to simulate hills plus you can stack them if you purchase another for more height. Highly recommended for indoor training sessions for winter or when the weather doesn't cooperate.
