4.0 out of 5 stars Functionally perfect except for warranty
I just returned from a dove hunt during which I used this thing constantly and am highly impressed. The rubber-covered switch worked well and seems solid, the five white LEDs emit enough light to work or walk by (I didn't field-test the included red set), the unit is small, light and well-positioned above the cap bill, and the tilt feature is invaluable. I can't imagine...

2.0 out of 5 stars Good design but made of cheap and weak material!
This light would be great if it were only made better. It took me one time to break it after exchanging the light heads. Further inspection revealed that the plastic prongs used to hold the head in after snapping it into the light broke off and were unfit for further service. This product is a great design with a lot of practical uses and features. However, this product...

I can't imagine the weird head angles purchasers of the non-tilting version must adopt in order to get things done. My sole complaint regards the unit's sad little 90-day warranty. It feels like Cyclops has a five-star product here, if only they'd man up and stand behind it.

If you use a flashlight or even headlight/hat light for doing things around a campsite, I highly recommend you get this. It makes task completion roughly as easy as if done in daylight. Will edit this review if/when the unit fails in the future and/or the batteries fail prematurely.

Further inspection revealed that the plastic prongs used to hold the head in after snapping it into the light broke off and were unfit for further service. This product is a great design with a lot of practical uses and features. However, this product and all of it's glorious potential has been ruined by the manufacturer via the use of unsuitable cheap and weak material.

I have had several cap lights over the past 5-8 yrs. and have found this one to be the best of all of them. One common drawback of cap lights is that if you work or use them in tight places they will tend to get knocked off your cap at times. All of them will break into pieces when this happens and most will not go back together. This one breaks into pieces but only where it is snap locked together and is easily reassembled( a great plus so far)!

4.0 out of 5 stars I use this headlamp and like it., June 24, 2010

This little headlamp is light weight but because it sits on the outside edge of your hats bill it will make the bill creep down a little. It is bright with 5 leds but I have seen others that my friends use that are brighter. You probably wont use the red lights, because you have to take out the white led module and replace it with the red.
The reason I choose this light is because of the tilting lights. I use it for fishing at night and when I have to tie a fly on the line I can tilt the light down so I can see what I'm doing. For this it works great.

I use this light daily feeding horses. The device provides ample light, and the on/off switch functions easily. The tilt feature is very handy. The one complaint I have, and it's a major one, is that the light unit seperates from the base too easily. Really leaves you in the dark when it does.

If your like me and always wear a hat, this product works very well. If you don't wear a hat most of the time then this will be no use to you. When I'm not required to wear safety glasses I use this gadget(My safety glasses have LED's on them.) It works well and the ability to adjust the pitch of the light is wonderful. Its also very light, you won't know you have it on your hat. I don't use the red LED's but it would come in handy if they don't put out any UV. Some plants have chemicals that react to UV's and that would come in handy in those situations, but as I said I don't know if it does or doesn't.

Overall this product does what it is intended to do and has a decent price. It seems to hold up well against some abuse for me so far. I recommend this product.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Concept, Poor Manufacturing, August 4, 2011

That old phrase "You get what you pay for" applies with this LED Lighting System.

I have purchased two of these as I wear hats frequently and prefer having a clip on light over a head lamp for most tasks. I like the idea, and the brightness is applaudable for how small this thing is. The shoddy craftsmanship is really the big down fall here. If you have to replace your batteries (and you will have to replace batteries) you will be lucky to get the replacement set in without the body splitting into two pieces. This is not that big of a deal at first because it just clips closed once more and away you go, but after the second battery replacement now you have a problem. It is time for arts and crafts time with superglue or tape to hold that bad boy closed. Another awesome little issue that has now happened on two of my four LED light clips is that for some reason only 3 of the 5 lights work and on the other only 2 lights work. This could be because the clip that holds the LED attachment in place also gets weak VERY quickly and thus will bring you right back to arts and crafts time.

Moral of the story is if you like the idea and don't mind fixing a poor quality product on frequent occasion then it's not a bad buy, if however you like no hassle and a solid product then definitely purchase something else.

I'm a driver for UPS and this light is perfect after dark. It lights up wherever I'm walking without having to carry a flashlight. Only 4 stars because I wish it was a little brighter.

You can buy these little headlights almost anywhere now but this is the ONLY one I have found that tilts. This is a VERY useful feature if you use this light for anything more then walking straight ahead!

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He farms and has to be out at night and early morning. He absolutely loves this light. He's used it for 2 months and no problems with it.
