The tool is overall accurate, but the metal reference marks had fallen off the dial indicator by the time I got it, and don't stay in place too well. The plastic guard for the dial indicator doesn't fit too well and is cheaply made. The handle is not too well indexed to the body, and the machine work is kind of lackadaisical with more tool marks than necessary and rougher surface finishes than should be for a precision tool. Overall, this is not up to the standards of the old Starrett I use to use, but considering it was only 1/3rd the price, it is probably worth the cost for occasional use.
