I have been dignosed with Interistitial Cystitis recently, as of January 2008. It is also referred to as painful bladder spasms. I refused the bladder instillations due to intolerance of the procedure related to pain. I was started on Elmiron three times a day. This made my hair fall out and therefore had to decrease the dose to once a day. I heard about Cystoprotek through the IC-Network. I bought it and tried it. Three days later, I started feeling better and by 2 weeks I could hardly tell that I had this awful disease. Thanks Amazon for selling this medicine.

I have IC and I have tried everything and I decided to try this instead of the prescribed medicine Elmiron. I could tell a difference within a couple of weeks. I will say, that it makes you go to the bathroom alot for an hour after taking it and then after you are fine, so I would not suggest before bed or before leaving for a trip. I am really impressed and the difference in taking this and the prescribed medicine is that it repairs the problem instead of masking it. I will continue to buy this product.

Have had IC for 3+ years now. Did bladder infusions and elmiron for 18 months+. Found Cystoprotek - what a difference!! Now I take nothing else at all, and the awful urethral pain and belly tenderness is completely gone. Have been on Cystoprotek for over a year now, absolutely zero side effects for me. This stuff is awesome.

I took Cystoprotek for about 6 weeks and my IC pain and urination burning went away. I felt so good that I quit taking it, and 3 weeks later was in pain again. I started it again right away and along with the prelief have been in much less pain. I think I will be very careful about stopping it again and be a regular customer for awhile. While I was feeling well, I still had twinges now and again and I think I will listen to my body more carefully the next time. Cystoprotek is a miracle in my book. I did a lot of research on it and would highly recommend it,...and I am pharmacist.

When I was first in serious, unrelenting pain for interstitial cystitis, I learned that the quality of life for those who suffer with it is as poor as can be imagined. I was handed a very long list of foods to avoid, but was told that no good ones could be suggested. That was the message of my primary doctor and gynecologist. Having bladder pain 24/7 drove me out of my mind! And being told that analgesics and products typically good for the bladder would simply worsen the symptoms was a message I found unbearable. Very thankfully, my sister read an article about Cysto Protek, designed to actually improve and restore the bladder wall that had been destroyed, and mailed it to me. A diagram was included. I took it to my doctors and they simply concurred that it couldn't hurt me. As odd as it may seem, within one day of taking the capsules, I experienced great pain relief. Since that day more than a year ago, I have been taking the recommended dosage every day and truly don't want to be without it. All of the irritants - chocolate, sour cream, eggs - you name it - can all be tolerated well, unless I am excessive about any of them. There are still foods I try to avoid, but I experience no bladder pain at all. This product is a miracle for me and sincerely an answer to prayer. I am extremely grateful for it. I can't imagine any doctor who understands its value allowing his patients to be without it. If you are in pain, don't hesitate to try it!

I tell you when I went to the Dr and he told me I had this IC condition and told me that I would have to take this for the rest of my life I was a little sceptical on whether it would do anything for my condtion that I have suffered with for so long, well it was like a miracle, after about a week of taking this, I actually slept for about 5 hours before I had to get up at night...this was the first time in I don't know how long I have been about to sleep formore than and hour at a time! And the pain in my bladder had subsided also! GREAT STUFF!

Let me clarify that I am NOT a urologist. I did however graduate from medical school and sadly developed IC/PBS during my pediatric residency. I have spent a lot time researching this "disease" and it's treatments after finally being correctly diagnosed by my Ob/Gyn. The problem with IC is that no two people have exactly the same course of illness. Furthermore, we are most likely very different in our etiologies. (That's why it's sometimes called Painful Bladder Syndrome, which is Dr. Speak for we really don't know what is going on here...) For me Cystoprotek worked very well. Even much earlier than the weeks that the company says it takes to work. I don't think this is placebo but has more to do with the etiology of my pain. I think the anti-inflammatory portion (quercitin, rutin) of this product can actually work very fast if there isn't a ton of damage to the bladder wall. The GAG (glucosamine, HA, Chondrotin) rebuilders probably are what take a lot longer to get going. So for someone older or with years of damage to the mucosa, it may take some patience with this product. But for me this was a true miracle for symptoms. I wish it was a cure...but until we understand what is actually causing this, symptom control is a real blessing.

I have side effects when I take this supplement, although they are not unpleasant and after 3 weeks I have kinda gotten use to them: The effects are similar to caffine, although not as jumpy, I feel I have a "natural high", I have frequent brain fades, like it is hard for me to think. When I "come off" of cistoprotek I can definitely feel the difference. I can't tell if it has helped my bladder problem or not as I have only taken it for 3 weeks. I am going to talk to my doctor about it to see if I should still take it because it produces these side effects.

I suffered for 25 years with interstitial cystitis, had surgeries and took elmiron which made my hair fall out. I tried meditation, yoga, biofeedback, birth control pills, hormones, anti depressants. Nothing helped. I developed insomnia, depression, and felt almost suicidal. Then I tried cystoprotek and within TWO DAYS I felt like a different person. I cry every time I think about the blessing I recieved from cystoprotek. I've been taking it for 3 months and I can be a good mom to my sweet 4 year old daughter now thanks to this product. If you have bladder pain PLEASE TRY THIS!!!!!!!!!!

I have suffered from IC for over 9 years. Medical doctors seem to be mystified by it and have been sympathetic but not very helpful... prescribing antibiotics and Elmiron (awful stuff!). I've gone thru several MD's to several Holistic Drs with little relief. Changing my diet and limiting alcohol helped somewhat but I was subject to flareups at anytime. Read about Cystoprotek in a newsletter by Dr. Susan Lark. Tracked it down on the internet to Amazon. The results have been like a gift from the heavens. Pain has stopped and I feel like a normal person again. We are not all the same and it may not work like this for you, but for me it did. I also take 1 Glucosamine/Condroitin/MSM pill in the am & pm as well as drops in the pm that promote alkalizing the blood. But not much changed until I tried the Cystoprotek.
