Product Description

Flavor: Banana Crème

Monster Milk is a powerful, easily digestible, sustained-release protein formula. Rapid-releasing whey, glutamine peptides and free form BCAAs are complemented by slower, anti-catabolic caseins and other complete protein isolates. This powerful combination of fast and slow proteins create a " muscle building window" that lasts for hours. Although it tastes like an ultra-rich milkshake, Monster Milk's advanced protein system makes it the ultimate nutritional tool for building monster-size muscle. The strategic use of a patented Bio-Active Polypeptide Enzyme System - Aminogen - ensures extreme ease of digestion. Plus Monster Milk contains zero lactose so it will be easy on your stomach.

So far I've tried cookies and cream and peanut butter chocolate.

If you become serious about working out you will need a shake at least once a day, if not twice.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a solid protein shake.

Background - I have been training heavily for the last 2 years. I am still learning a lot but I think that my insight may help you a bit.

For starters and no offense but "this shake taste great" is not the type of review that you need to read on monster milk. Blanket statement - Almost all Monster Milk / Muscle Milk shakes taste fantastic. What you really need to know is that monster milk has a very important ingredient which separates it from Muscle Milk and that is Creatine. It concerns me that this isn't mentioned in any of the reviews. Creatine is a very safe supplement when taken correctly, however if you have no need for it then your paying a premium for a wasted supplement. Creatine has to be taken consistently to show results, therefore if your drinking this shake only a few times a week you will lose one of its main benefits.

If you are casually working out then you have no need for this product. If you want a good tasting shake on the high price end then drop down to Muscle Milk.

Here is my personal opinion:

I used Monster Milk during "phase 2" of my development at the gym. Phase 1 was muscle milk. I loved the taste I liked the results, but wanted to give something with Creatine a try. After tearing through this product (almost 30 bucks fo 2 weeks worth of shakes) I realized the true expense of this high priced product. Yes, the ingredients are high quality, but you can find that cheaper.

As you progress with your goals you begin to recognize the types of people at the gym that you want to emulate. You may not have perfect form but you're able to recognize it. You may always do generic "easy" workouts and through observation of these people you may add some of the things they do to your workout piece by piece.

This is the best tasting supplement shake out there.I've also tried muscle milk and it's great!Especially the calories and fat are pretty low per serving, and also high in protein and low in carbs. The quality is outstanding.

Short version:

Monster Milk is a new Cytosport product. It's good and if you like creatine, hate the taste of most powders, and need more protein than Muscle Milk, buy it now.

Pros: this has tons of protein (50g!), creatine and all sorts of other goodies (L-Glutamine, Betaine Anhydrous, Aminogen), some of which you probably already buy separately, in one package. This product is A-OK for octo-lacto vegetarians, unlike some inferior brands which use creatine from inferior sources, like animal skeletons.

Cons: is it doesn't taste as good as muscle milk's other products (it really only tastes slightly better than most chocolate whey), probably because Creatine is natively an ugly tasting product. It has more calories than regular muscle milk though not a ton (like malt or something for dirty bulking). College programs can't distribute it because of Creatine (and to my knowledge unlike Muscle Milk there's no collegiate blend). It could do with more Creatine.

If you take Creatine, buy it now. Everything else with Creatine tastes pretty awful and this tastes no worse than whey.

Longer version:

I lift and I'm a vegetarian. I have to watch protein supplementation a bit more than most folks. I really like creatine, too but it's bitter-tasting and hate citrus before a workout (you pretty much had to mix the powder with citrus or gatorade for it to be palatable) because of gastro problems and calories. My go-to supplement for years has been Cytosport Muscle Milk 2.48Lb Orange Cream,

It arrived really fast. It works well for building muscle mass and tastes great if mixed with 2% milk instead of water.

If you're straight up looking for postworkout (like me) then this will do the job. HOWEVER if you're going to use this as a meal replacement here's my advice

1) FOR THE LUVOFGOD DO NOT DRINK IT BY ITSELF. It's taste isn't bad, but I can't say it's too good either
2) Add your fav snacks. Personally i throw in peanut butter and a banana and I'm set!!

Hope this helps
