Well written, organized, informative,
By
This review is from: Czechoslovak Armored Fighting Vehicles 1918-1948 (Hardcover)
In 1938, the French and British sold out their Czech Allies at the Munich conference, allowing Germany to occupy Czechoslovakia. When the Germans marched in, they not only took over a country, but a huge amount of weapons such as the T-35 and T-38 tanks. This infusion of modern armor helped Germany defeat France and led to the infamous Marder and Hetzer Anti tank weapons.
There are many other tidbits of information in the book. As with many of the Schiffer Military books, this is published on high glossy paper, well illustrated with crisp B&W photos, line drawings and data pages. Czech armament industry was very advanced for its time in tanks, armored cars, machine guns, armored trains and more. This book covers it all. This is an excellent addition to the serious armor buff/historian. Not so much for modelers, not enough color. It is expensive, but well worth the price. It really gives an excellent idea as to contemporary armor design in Europe between the wars, what the Germans did to advance those designs and until 1948, how some of those designs were still in service. Higly recommended.

The Ultimate Reference,
This review is from: Czechoslovak Armored Fighting Vehicles 1918-1948 (Hardcover)
This is the ultimate reference work on the subject. It not only covers the exterior of the vehicles, but also the armament, interior, camouflage markings and uniforms. What more could you ask for?
