I had an un-invited guest at my house the other day. After hearing a scratching and banging sound in the attic, I opened the door to investigate. There staring me in the face was a field rat- he quickly shot up the stairs and disappeared.

Having had this same problem about two years ago (in the same location) I knew what to do.

This package contains 4 bait trays. All you do is peel back the film covering the tray (filled with bait) and place the tray in the approximate area where you saw the rodent. The rodent thinks the bait is food, and let me tell you they are always hungry.

Wait a 3-4 days and check the tray- you should notice that some (or maybe all) of the bait has been eaten by the rodent. That is good news, because then you know the rodent is well on his way to death. Replace bait trays as needed- you will know that your rodent problem is over, when, after placing a tray in a location for several days that there is no bait being consumed.

you complainers! get off the pity pot. if you take plain old d-con and sprinkle it with Parmesan cheese and stir it up where it's mixed (i put in it a microwave for 15 seconds to get it to melt and bond to the decon) and put it out in bulk you'll kill every living thing that eats it. The parmesan cheese makes them drool. Rats, mice, chipmunks, ground squirrels, muskrats, boom they are gone.
Many of you put one box out and think you've solved world hunger! This has to be out there for them to eat until you notice it's not all eaten. Then you will know you have killed them off. But even then, keep it laid out for them just in case others see fit to come by for a look see.
I went from hundreds to maybe a dozen a year. It kills everything that eats it. Quit complaining and put more out.

Squirrels and chipmunks have been literally eating my house and yard, but they aren't around any more. I stopped trapping them and started feeding them d-Con and they loved it. I loved the result - they're gone and I don't have to replace boards in my siding any more.

We had two pesky squirrels that climbed on our second-storey porch, then to the side of the house, window sills and were scratching at the glass and threatening to get inside somehow. I placed trays of the bait on the porch, watched as they came over a period of a couple of weeks, and consumed 2 or 3 trays of bait. They disappeared and have never been seen again, so I assume they died. Sounds cruel, but if you've ever had squirrels gnaw into your attic or under the eaves you know it is not only a nuisance but dangerous. I was delighted to see that the D-Con works for squirrels. Only thing is you have to put it out of the way of pets and other animals.

for some reason they don't seem to be eating this. I may add some peanut butter and see how that goes

This product is amazing! I live in the third floor of a condo. I work from home but have to go to the office for a few hours twice a week and I leave my 5 lbs chihuahua in the covered patio where I put his covered doggie house (water doesn't get in the dog house if it rains and there's no extreme cold in South Florida and the patio has metal mesh covering the rails, he can't jump). To make a long story short pieces of kibble were left overnight a few times rats would climb a nearby tree and jump inside to get eat them, then pee and poop all over my patio. It was driving me crazy!

I made sure no food was left overnight and the little critters ate an empty solo cup they found (I have all this recorded with dropcam). At this point I knew it was time to take action! I called the HOA's office to have the tree trimmed but they said I had to wait 2 weeks until the landscaping company was due to arrive. I decided to take matters in my own hands and got this product from my local Ace hardware store. I kept my dog inside during the process because this is dangerous poison and set a tray sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese for the rats to eat, when that tray was gone I put another one, but they only ate about half of it before disappearing. The process took about a week and a few days later they finally trimmed the trees, so hopefully I'm done with rats. I don't really know how many they were on where they died, but I know I haven't seen them or their excrement again.

The mice definitely love this stuff. I used it in a foreclosed property I bought and went through several containers. Last one is still half full. So far, I've come across 3 dead mice. I'm sure I'll find either the D-Con in my walls, or more dead rodents.

My husband has been using this brand for a few years now to deter some rats that tend to live in the attic. It does help a lot, just have to make sure once use, you have to regularly check the attic for potential issues of possibly finding dead rats.
