Your Husband's WHAT?,
By
This review is from: D-Cup Diva 2 / Rossalyn (Paperback)
Mikelah and Eric have what appears to be a wonderful marriage. While out shopping and laughing, their life changes in a blink of an eye. Eric's fiancé approaches them. Yes his fiancé. Eric has been cheating on Mikelah for over a year with Tangie. When Tangie finds out that he is married she tries to leave. He promises her that he loves her and proposes with a two-carat ring. Who could say no? Definitely not Tangie. Kaira Denee's My Husband's Fiancee documents this crazy threesome.
Meanwhile, Kimberly Rose, a successful reality TV producer, is watching the whole confrontation go down in the mall. She also has her own love saga. Her 18 year-old, multi-million dollar basketball player, boyfriend, Biil Drake, is looking for her to give him a real commitment. Kim knows that her past is more than shaky and does not feel that she can settle down. Not to mention the fact that Billy is 12 years younger than her. Luckily she is confident in her career and can focus on that. Her mind begins rolling and she instantly sees the next big reality show. She approaches the threesome and a hit is in the making. The women go through several challenges to prove they are worthy of Eric's love. In the end, he must choose to either stay with his wife and three children or divorce her and marry his fiancé. Denee has definitely found a winner with this. I could not put the book down. It is full of drama, suspense, laughter and pain. The story is broken down by episodes of the reality show and then snippets into the life of Kim. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it for a fast, entertaining read. Definitely a Page Turner and a Must Read,

This review is from: D-Cup Diva 2 / Rossalyn (Paperback)
Mrs. Kaira Denee does it again with her 3rd novel - "My Husband's Fiancee". I read this book in one day and I must say, I was quite intrigued. From the beginning to the end, the novel kept my mind boggling. From the fiesty Tangie Mitchell who would go to no holds bars to get her man whom she found out was married, to Mikelah who tried to stop at no length to keep her marriage to Eric intact. Both ladies go through different obstacles to claim what they think is theirs. Even if it means exposing other's secrets and lies. Each chapter, and each segment of the book will have your mind wandering and realizing this is what really goes on in everyday life. Ms. Kimberly the narrator and producer of the novel is even going thru her own issues in her life and stomped by distress when she realizes those she loved really didn't care about her. In the end, it's not about following your heart, but about finding yourself. "My Husband's Fiancee," is a sure read and I'm pleased to say that Kaira hit the nail on this one. Good Job Kaira.

Having an ugly past is hard, but trying to keep it hidden, can be even harder. Kimberly, confident and professional was engaged to a popular, professional, basketball player and didn't want her ugly past to ruin her chances of marrying him. Although she was advised to tell him, not once, but several times, she decided not to and it made matters worse. A friend that she loved and thought was her ace, was motivated by money, was the enemy that had the knife hovering over her back ready to stab her, crossed the line by setting up her fiancé and her and that caused Kimberly's personal life to crumble.
While her professional life blossomed because she produce a reality show about a married man and his fiancée, that had a wife and a mistress going through hurdles and hoops for Eric, the undecided lover to choose one of them. Kimberly's future at CPS was solid. Ratings were high and all was well for Kimberly, except her hidden past, hatred for her father and fear of having her life exposed the way the exposed her reality characters caused Kimberly the most grief. My Husband's Fiancée was a pretty good read. It had a few contradictions that made me flip back, or go back to a few lines before, but for the most part it was good. I like the fact that Kaira maintained two story lines in the book and that made it interesting for me. There were minor typos, but didn't make the book difficult to read and I enjoyed this book. I really did like the way the book ended, but I would have like to may have learned what Mikelah did after the show. Overall My Husband's Fiancée was a fun read that I'd recommend. Much success to you Kaira. Anna Black AAMBC Reviewer

Damn It--Another Dude Torn Between Two,
By Dream Relations "Dawn Michelle" (New York City) - See all my reviews

I gotta say Flava of Love, Real Chance at Love nor Real Housewives of Atlanta have anything on the crazy ass situations that happen in My Husband's Fiancee by Kaira Denee. Really! Like the opening spectacle that takes place in the mall between Mikelah, her husband Eric and his side chick Tangie who is sporting a 2-carat engagement ring on her finger. What a way to kick of the Christmas shopping season!!! Eric is another dude torn between two women--this is real life "OMG drama" written on the pages of this fabulous 3rd release by Kaira Denee.
Ladies if you can only imagine being married for 10 years with 3 kids(twins included) and some chick comes up to you and your boo in the mall talking about she is his fiancee and he needs to choose. I'm not sure that the Christmas spirit could stop me from beating that man down to the ground with my Gap shopping bags. I may have to slap him with a Tonga truck or something. Sheer embarassment. But if your a business women working in reality TV--then hey, you know this is gonna make for some good ass TV. "BRAVO" is what I say about My Husband's Fiancee! This was my first Kaira Denee novel and I'm a fan for sure. So much that now I'll be reading her first two novels Take it There and Sugar's Daddy, cause I see that this is one author who knows how to keep you engaged in the everyday foolishness of others. My Husband's Fiancee deserves an award for being the Best Reality Show You'll Ever Read!!!! Don't borrow this book--you gotta get your own!! [...]

You have got to be kidding!,

This review is from: D-Cup Diva 2 / Rossalyn (Paperback)
The main character is 27 year old reality TV producer, Kimberly Rose, who's caught up in a "love thing" with an 18 year old NBA player. I can't say this is unbelievable, but I can't imagine too many mothers that would be okay with their 18 year old dating a grown woman, even if he's making grown man money.
A former stripper turned producer, Kimberly is stunned when her young hottie proposes to her and her best friend from her stripping days shows up in town. She's torn about whether she should reveal her past and if she should accept his proposal. The side story in all of this is the reality TV show Kimberly is producing about a married man with a fiancee'. Yes, you read that right. Engaged. Married. Wife. Kids. We're to believe that two women love this man enough to move into a house with him for 12 weeks and participate in challenges that will ultimately help him decide which woman he should be with. I don't want to get up on my feminist soapbox and start spouting, but what the hell??? Anyway, the ladies move in with Eric and basically he's torn between new booty and old booty. For a short while it seems that the ladies might come to their senses and both will kick him to the curb, but eh, no such luck. Someone gets his trifling tail and is happy about it. I was really bothered by the implausibility of both story lines, along with the proofing errors. I saw "they're" for "their" way too many times, along with "you're" for "your". It's also interesting to note that while we're not told the race of any of the other characters, though assumptions could be made based on names, the writer drops the fact that Kimberly is white midway through the book. I don't know if that was supposed to add something to the story line or not, but honestly it just made me feel some kind of way. |
