5.0 out of 5 stars THIS ALBUM IS TOO HOTT!
I've always been down to listen to midwest hip hop. esspecially do or die and twista. All their work is great. Kamikazee was the sound for last summer. Just like this new do or die album will be the sound for this summer. You could play this album front to back and it just gets better each time. I gotta cool off of it before I get sick of it cause I know once the weather...

3.0 out of 5 stars Do Or Die- D.O.D.
The Chicago trio of A.K., N.A.R.D. and Belo collectively known as Do Or Die return with their sixth album "D.O.D." (2005). The energetic "Right Here" kicks the album off well. The albums first real standout for me is the lead single "Higher", Do Or Die enlisted the help of Kayne West and ended up with a very memorable collaboration. Kayne West returns for "Paid the Price"...

3.0 out of 5 stars Do Or Die- D.O.D., February 1, 2005
This review is from: D.O.D.: Do or Die (Audio CD)
The Chicago trio of A.K., N.A.R.D. and Belo collectively known as Do Or Die return with their sixth album "D.O.D." (2005). The energetic "Right Here" kicks the album off well. The albums first real standout for me is the lead single "Higher", Do Or Die enlisted the help of Kayne West and ended up with a very memorable collaboration. Kayne West returns for "Paid the Price" another smooth cut. My current favorite is the laidback love ballad "If Only You Knew", a track that has first class appearances from Twista and R & B singer Syleena Johnson. I continue to be impressed time after time by Syleena Johnson who has laced a lot of Rappers with memorable choruses over the years. Do Or Die and Johnny P deliver another track for the ladies with "Holla At Your Boy". Another standout has Do Or Die hooking up with Ric Dilla and Johnny P for the impressive "Be Alright". Do Or Die raises the tempo up for a banger called "Getcha Weight Up". Another track I like is "For My N*****" feat. Traxster, a cut about staying up and remembering those who have died. Shawnna makes an appearance on the "Higher" (Remix) repping Chicago. The three skits and a number of other tracks (IE U Already Know, Magic Chick, Nawty) fall under skip material for me and bring the album down a bit. What really carried this album over for me were the collaborations with Do Or Die's fellow Chi-town artists Kayne West, Syleena Johnson and Twista who all delivered strong guest appearances. I recommend this album to fans of the group. 3.5.

Glad to see the boys back on the scene....My favorite song is Magic Chick and it's probably because of R. Kelly, but they did a good job too. Also, anything with kanye West is on lock. Keep up the good work. STAY BLESSED!!!!

They are back with their fast flow and all, but nothing like Pimpin Ain't Dead.
Some songs on here are dead, but some are tight. I'd buy this album anyways if you have liked DOD in the past!

3.0 out of 5 stars CHi-Town In Da Houseee!, February 13, 2005
This review is from: D.O.D.: Do or Die (Audio CD)
Do Or Die still got Game.it's great having Max Julien"The Mack" Goldy on board for the Interludes. Syleena Johnson rips things up as usual.Twista brings it as well. wasn't feeling the DJ Quik cut that much seemed more or less he was going through the Musical Motions. He had some ok lines in there though.Johnny P was cool. but Of course the Highlight was "Magic Chick" with the King of Music&the Baddest Soul Brother in the Game R.Kelly.Kellz hit that Flow so tight that you just go is there anything musically the Brother can't do? Eat your Heart out JayZ.Because R.Kelly can Outflow you if He wants to.R.Kelly Might Arguably Be one of the 100 Greatest Rappers Ever.the album could have been trimmed down a bit but the Cuts that Bang are on Point.glad the Brothers are Back&It's cool with the DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tight, March 3, 2006
This review is from: D.O.D.: Do or Die (Audio CD)
This obivously isn't there best peice of work, but it still is pretty good and better then half of the rap that is out there today. "For My Ni**as" is my favorite song, as well as a lot of others. They even hooked up with the likes of DJ Quik, Kanye West, and some others, but the biggest suprise was NO COLLAB WITH TWISTA. Twista and Do or Die, go together like P's and carrots, that was my biggest complaint about the cd, but never-the-less this is a good cd for any Do or Die fan, or rap fan.

Do or Die put it down once again. This album is hot, but i've always been a fan of the mid-west flow. If your a Do or Die fan then you def. need to pick up this album. I think this could possibly be one of the best albums of the year since the 50 CD was a bust. I havn't been a fan of kanye but he did a good job with this CD. Also twista brought the goods again. AWESOME CD!!

4.0 out of 5 stars D.O.D.!!!, February 16, 2005
This review is from: D.O.D.: Do or Die (Audio CD)
I use to like Do or Die but they kind of lost me after the Victory album. I had a little extra money, nothing else came out that day so i said why not?? I heard the "Higher" single and it was pretty good. I must say this album is up there with their first two. They could have kept maybe 2 of the songs but other than that they kill it.

Kanye produced 2 or 3 tracks on here, so did DJ Quik, Traxsters, RKelly and Scott S. The lyrics are on point and they seem to have the hunger back in them. They finally balanced the album and did not put to many "i'm a pimp songs" that kind of killed me from buying their last two albums.
If u are into old Do or Die pick this up and listen to it without bias, cause I promise u will enjoy it. Hotep.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Star???!! This is the Best hip hop album of the year!!!!, March 22, 2005

first of all, who the hell would rate this do or die album with one star. nah, don't even listen to an ignorant comment from someone who hasn't heard one track from the album. Anyone who has heard this new album loves it. Do or Die has always been great if not the best in the game and they have absolutly out done themselves. this album is so creative and the beats are amazing. How could you go wrong with Do or Die, Twista, Kanye West, Johnny P, R. Kelly, D.j. Quick, Syleena Johnson, Bounty Killas, Malik Yuself, Shawnna. stand out tracks besides the two major hits higher and magic chick are "if only you knew", w/twista, "holla at your boy" w/johhny p., and "for my Niggaz". I'm just glad I got this album before the radio drowns it out because this is the best album of the year hands down.
