Book Description

November 2004
The very first ground actions linked to the D-Day in France were fought by the 'Red Berets', the famous British and Canadian paratroopers of the 6th Airborne Division dropped over the Caen region, and also by the lesser-known French SAS who jumped over Brittany the same day to fight a guerilla war.

This book offers every detail of these elite soldiers, uniforms, equipment, badges and emblems - all illustrated in full color

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent photo reference, January 3, 2007

Another fine effort by Bouchery in the World War II genre. This particular work focuses on the equipment, clothing and personal items borne by British, Canadian and Free French paratroopers for the Normandy Invasion. Period photographs as well as staged images with period gear and clothing give the World War II military buff a great guide. Now I would like to have a similar work for the Market Garden operations that include the Polish paratroopers.

5.0 out of 5 stars HIGHLY USEFUL AND DETAILED WORK, November 29, 2005
This review is from: D-Day Paratroopers, Vol. 2: The British, Canadian and French (Hardcover)
Jwan Bouchery has done it again.

I have his previous works on the British Tommy in NW Europe and his book on the Canadian soldiers. All are elaborately illustrated with charts, individual item photos, and reconstructions of as worn combinations of equipment and clothing worn by models. In addition there are many lists, charts, and tables gathering together informatioon gleaned from many scarce and obscure publications.

Myxh of Bouchery's work has appeared in the excellent French language periodical Militaria published also by Histoire et Collections. This method of proceeding has the great virtue of first publishing in a more temporary format and inviting the readers to submit corrections and additional data which can be used to improve the final work published in book form.

I ordered Volume 2 as listed on Amazon. I received Volume 1.

I did the return exchange for a re-order and Amazon sent me volume 1 again!!! Volume 2 is shown with a different cover and about different topics. Amazon told me NOT to order this from them again, as it appeared to them that there was a warehouse issue with their website.

I really wanted Volume 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried twice!!!!!!!
