First lemme say the guy below doesn't really 'review' many products on Amazon, they're mostly just one liners saying the product is bad or it's really great. I would give D-Force 4 Stars, but the score should be evened out.

D-Force is a vertical-scrolling shooter released for the SNES by Asmik in 1991. The game puts you in control of an Apache Helicopter going through the Middle East. If you've played Jungle Strike or it's sequels, the games are very similar.

The gameplay of D-Force is pretty straight forward. You have many types of enemies, but you really don't have any strategy for taking them down other than dodge their attacks and shoot them. There are air-borne enemies and enemies on the ground. You can just fly over the enemies on the ground or you can dive down and take 'em out if you don't want to dodge their attacks.

You only have your primary weapon which can be upgraded numerous times. You start off with a single line of fire which you can upgrade to I believe 7 projectiles and homing missles. There are no other attacks in the game, which keeps the gamplay fairly simple, but keep in mind Pong is simple too.

The controls are setup well, and the music is catchy, though there aren't a lot of levels in the game, 7 total. The game is pretty short but it has enough of a challenge and an easy learning curve to keep you busy for a few hours. The action starts off very slow but the later levels get pretty hectic, and a few of the bosses can keep you busy, just not the poor excuse for a boss in level 2.

If you have an SNES I'd definately recommend that you get this game, especially since you can get it for a measly $1. It's not innovative, it's not deep, and it's not going to move you to tears, but it's a fun and simple Pick-up-and-Play game that will keep you entertained, and that's what shooters should be.

This game is a very generic shooter as most were in the time of the snes. Most of them though were very entertaining and a staple for anyone of the time. D-Force is a good stable shooter for anyone to enjoy and I highly recommend it considering how cheap it is now.
