Shay Williams created a manual to rediscover and master the art of dating. D.I.V.A. DON'T GET PLAYED is not so much a guide on how to find a man to marry, as it is a guide to equip the reader with the skills needed to date the right person, possessing the right attitude and having fun while doing so. Williams shares how to improve within to attract potential dates and what to look out for so you won't be caught up in the wrong type of relationships. The book goes on to tell you how to keep the man once you find him.

Williams shares the six human needs in any relationship: certainty, uncertainty, love/connection, growth, significance and contributions. She also share secrets every man wants a woman to know but will never tell them, which I found interesting and enlightening. The guide promises if you follow the process, you will be dating the man of your dreams in 30 days. The best advice she offers is to not expect your man to possess qualities that you yourself do not have.

Williams kept the book light and humorous. Her belief is that you should enjoy the dating period, dating (not sleeping with) several guys at the same time and carefully considering what your date brings to the table and what you can bring as well. I am not sure if you are guaranteed to be dating the man of your dreams in 30 days, but I believe you will have a busy calendar and a whole lot of fun trying.

I am a fan of Shay Williams' You tube channel she gives mature advice for single women of all ages. The problem with this book is at the age of 28 most of this stuff I have all ready learned by trail and error. I think she took out all the good stuff for her other book...Diva Mommy don't get played. Designed for single mothers. She only had 1 at book at first (Love in 30 days). I don't have any children so I skipped that one, I probably should have gotten it instead. This book was not for a mature reader at all!!! I will pass it on to my 19 year cousin who is in her 1 year of college. It may give her the tips and insight she needs. But as a grown #$% woman. This information wasn't useful at all. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because of the visualization and meditation advice. I could have saved my $12 dollars because MaMa all ready told me this stuff. At the time I wasn't ready to recieve it. But you live and you learn. Hopeful this book will help some young DIVA and prevent her from making the same mistakes we did. Thanks for your effort, Shay!!!

I have read lots of relationship books. Typically, they offer advice based on the authors' own real life experiences. Shay does share her personal relationship drama, but this author has also gone out and dated randomly and in various forms (Internet, blind dates, etc.) to discover a full range of do's and don'ts. I have lots of respect and admiration for her. I just read one negative comment by an obviously jealous woman who has lost her man or who hasn't even tried Shay's technique. Let losers vent. Meanwhile, trust that anything is possible with God who wants us to be faithful and wise women. Shay's book offers that wisdom.
