I wouldn't part with mine!,
By A Customer
This review is from: D.I.Y. Guitar Repair - Compact Music Guides Series (Compact Reference Library) (Paperback)
That little line from the old Fender ads just popped in my mind! I bought DIY Guitar Repair just a couple of months ago and it really changed the way I work on guitars. It goes deep into the nuts and bolts of pro-guitar setups and repairs, guiding you step-by-step. Since I bought it, I have been working on dozens of guitars, both electric and acoustic, and the results are really amazing. Each and everyone of them did sound and play like never before, including the ones that just came out the store! Bottomline, if you are into professional guitarsetups and repairs, you really can't afford to miss this one.

This book worked for me !,

This review is from: D.I.Y. Guitar Repair - Compact Music Guides Series (Compact Reference Library) (Paperback)
I was playing a gig one night and a visitor asked me if he could play a couple of songs. I borrowed him my guitar (12-string acoustic) and let him do his thing. Afterwards we started talking and he told me he was amazed that I could play that guitar. I asked him 'how come' and he thought it needed a lot of work to have it play good. He said 'wait', went down to his car and said 'this is what you need' and gave me this little gem. Next day I started reading and then working on my guitar. Now I know what he meant and my guitar plays great. Thanks to him and this book. Just love it. Did my other guitars too and they are all playing great now. So all I can say to all these guitarists, go buy it !

Not quite a guitar repair book,

This book focuses mainly on fixing and setting up acoustic guitars. It only mentions electric guitars as a footnote to every section on acoustics. I didn't find it very helpful to me and definitely not what I had hoped it would be. The illustrations were not very detailed either.
