The DFE-670TXD adheres to IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u standards, which specify existing 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX Ethernet technology. This supports both half and full duplex modes with data rates up to 10/100Mbps and 20/200Mbps. The DFE-670TXD also utilizes auto-negotiation to adjust the speed to any 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX network automatically. With these features, the DFE-670TXD is an excellent choice for mobile users.
With the DFE-670TXD's RAM data buffer, all incoming data is processed and stored into temporary memory and, then, eventually filtered out. This capability results in smooth data flow. For easy monitorying, the DFE-670TXD's extensive diagnostic LEDs show link connectivity for both 10Link/Activity and 100Link/Activity.
Designed with a plug-and-play feature, the DFE-670TXD is simple to install and operate. With built-in hot swapping capabilites, the DFE-670TXD can be removed while the computer is still in operation.

Great card!,

This review is from: D-Link 10/100 Ethernet PC Card (Personal Computers)
As with all D-Link products I have tried and own, this adapter card works great. It installs easily and comes with a protective case. It is the 16 bit 670TXD card, and I cannot tell any difference in performance between it and the 32 bit 690TXD. The 670TXD will work in any PC card slot, but the 690 TXD needs a 32 bit cardbus slot and costs a little more. If you have an older laptop without a built in 10/100, and you do not want the cost of wireless, then the D-Link 670TXD would be a great choice. Beside the convenience of mobility with wireless, wired is always better in terms of reliability and speed of connection. I have used the 670TXD under W98SE and ME with no problems, and would recommend this card.

I ordered this item to use with my Dell laptop (8000 series) and have had no problems with it! Installation was painless (Windows ME) and it provides me with an excellent connection for my high-speed internet, whether I'm playing games or watching online television.
