This product definitely works (if you use it correctly).,
This review is from: D-Link DWL-M60AT 6dBi Directional Indoor Antenna (Personal Computers)
For those that want something to improve the range of their Wireless Access Point (WAP) / wireless router then what you need is an *omni* directional antenna.
This is not what you're looking for. This is a directional antenna, in very simple terms, you'd add to something like a wireless network card, or some other wireless device and point it very specifically in the *direction* of your wireless access point / wireless router. In my case I have a wireless router, and a number of wireless network clients, one of which is a D-Link DSM-520 HD media player. My problem was, according to the site survey functionality on the DSM-520, I was only seeing a connection level of between 40-50. My solution was to replace the two 2 dBi antennas on my 802.11g SMC Barricade 2804WBR route with two 8 dBi omni-directional antennas to increase the overall range on my wireless network (site survey on the DSM-520 went from 40-50 range to about 70), and then this product, the D-Link DWL-M60AT 6dBi to replace the 2dBi antenna on the back of my DSM-520 HD media player. On adding this the site survey showed (to my pleasant surprise) a perfect and consistent 100 level. I highly recommend this product if you want to increase the connection level of a single wireless device to your wireless network. If, however, you wish to increase the overal range of your wireless network then I recommend that you purchase an omni-directional antenna.

It Works!!!,

This little guy really works! I've got a media player (DSM-320RD - see my review of it) that I connected it to, and it drastically improved my wireless connection. I went from about 40% to 70% connectivity as soon as I plugged it in, and I can actually see the difference in speed when files are been transmitted. Great work, D-Link!

This antenna gave me a 30% signal boost when switching from the dinky little plastic antenna on my dlink g520 card. My computer is in the basement and the router the antenna is aimed at is on the 2nd floor of my house. Definitely works if your desktop is behind many obstacles or far away from your router.

I have two M60AT antennas. My whole network zips. I use one on my signal repeater and one on my main computer. My signal went from
47 to 93.

I bought this to hook to my Dlink DI-524 router in order to reach a wireless device at the other end of the house. It did not help at all. I am returing it. I talked to a Dlink tech person and he said that the DI-524 did not have enough power to effectively drive this antenna and he was not surprized that it did not work in my application.

Not a silver bullet,

I've several wireless antenna's to hook to a distant access point. For my purposes, this one did little. Even when I pointed it directly in the direction of the router. I finally bought a more expensive antenna that gave me an extra 15% of signal strength. Yet I see others who have had great luck with this product. I think there are quite a few variables to increasing signal strength, you almost have to try a few different products and see what works best for your case.

I replaced the standard antenna on my D-Link DWL-G520 card with this and it took me from very low/low (with almost line of sight to the router) to very good with just aiming it in the general direction of the router. Great product.

Great product. Prior to my purchase of this antenna I was unable to gain a signal on my laptop from the first floor to the opposite side of the house and second floor where my router is located. I'm now able to receive an "excellent" signal rating.

Very Good Wireless Antenna,

I am very pleased with the D-Link 6dB1 Antenna. It was very easy to install and has increased my connectivity to my wireless router. With the antenna on my PC wireless card I would get between 3 and 4 bars and would lose the connection but now I am at a constant 5 bars.

This item works, but not as well as advertised. Its reach is not as good as expected.
