I had a belkin router that was very dependable but not very fast so I decided to upgrade to an n router. After a lengthy search I chose a d-link. I was fairly easy to set up and for the most part works well but for one problem. Sometimes I have to umplug it and plug it in again. Why? because I try to bring a web page up and my computer tells me I can`t access the internet! But if I restart the router or just bypass the router I have no problems. This does not happen all that often but it is annoying.

This product arrived within the time specified and took about 5 minutes to set it up and have it working. No hassles at all. I have two wireless computers working off of it plus the main computer where the cable comes in. Highly recommended.

I'm a technical guy and so I like to get a lot out of my routers. Normally I'd buy a cheap router that is DD-WRT compatible, but this time I purchased this D-Link because I needed it fast (and it was cheap).

First, the good: it's a typical inexpensive 802.11n router. It seems to work OK in the 5 day's I've owned it.

Now the bad. I seemed to freak it out by creating a password with funny characters like backslashes and the like, forcing me to reset it as I locked myself out. Also, it seems to go off-air after being up for a few days - it looks like the WIFI interface isn't the most stable.

I assume that its failings are all software related - but sadly, there are no firmware patches are available yet.

UPDATE: There seems to be a firmware upgrade for this now which addresses the password issue, and since it hasn't crashed in a long while, I will bump it up one star.

Most annoying router ever. I bought it to replace my old linksys B router and this one is WORSE. Packing it up and sending it back TODAY. Will not stay connected to devices, even in the same room, constantly have to reconnect, which is fun when you are paying bills and then you don't know if the payment went through. YAY. NOT

This router is not dependable. It does not stay connected to the Internet. It requires my unplugging it and rebooting far too frequently. I am returning it for a more dependable brand.

I recently visit my parents and notice that they have a simple ADSL2 line from provider with ZyXel P-660RU-T1 router. Apparently, ZyXel router has only 1 Ethernet port that is used with there desktop PC. There is a USB port for connecting the wireless-AP antena - - bottom line - - they have no WIFI in their home. So, the smartphone they are using will only run on data plan all the time. So, it is important to get them WIFI !!

In my case, it is an easy choice to take this model, simply because they do not have the USB wireless-AP (that WIFI anthena option for ZyXel router). Therefore, I have to take another wireless router. This model is the only one available at the nearby electronic store.

Well, for those who try to put wireless router behind DSL router - you may be concern of the additional technical setup to make it work in this configuration

---ADSL or BROADBAND Line---ADSL or BroadBand Router(ZyXel)----Wireless Router----PC

Well, worry no more people for this router have been almost preset for this scenario. Just follow this step
0. Power off bother ADSL and D-LINK routers
1. Connect Ethernet port from XyXel to the yellow Ethernet input of D-Link DIR600L
2. Connect Ethernet port (any one of the four ports available) to your PC with Ether cable.
3. On your PC, open a new IE browser
4. Power on ADSL modem (ZyXEL) when ON, then power on D-LINK
- Once ON, PC detects that new D-LINK is there and it gets into router setting screen right away
- In case it is not auto detect, enter 192.168.0.1 to your IE browser
*** This IP@ is pre-set by D-LINK from the factory.

Like many others, I was really getting frustrated with a Linksys router and their "customer service." I got a new Linksys about a year ago, was having difficulties with connection speed from day 1, received a return authorization and they replaced my new with a re-conditioned router. When the same problems occurred (i.e. slow connection speed), I contacted customer service and they wanted $30 before they would even talk to me 'cause it was not a new router. My connection speed was about 1 - 2 Mbps and my Netflix streaming almost never gave me HD. When they asked me for more money, I said screw you, I can buy a new router for less.

I went for this router as it cost about 1/2 what the linsys did (also less than the $30 Linksys wanted). It was very easy to install and add devices (I have 4 wireless and 3 wired). It always gives me above 20Mbps connection speed on both my iPhone and iPad, and Netflix always comes in at HD (provided it's an HD program of course).

I would recommend this over Linksys any day.
