Daddy, Why are you holding that knife?,
This review is from: D (Video Game)
Ok, so a small company named Warp made a small game called D. People didn't really like it, primarily because of how short it was, but then I played D2, and I loved that so much I HAD to play D. And I did. And it was good. It's mainly about Laura (That's you.)who enters a hospital where her father, a big-name doctor, has gone mad and killed everyone. When Laura enters, the whole hospital transforms into a dungeon type labarynth. Thus Laura has entered her father's warped mind. Then it's up to you to prove that Laura's father's love for her is stronger than any homicidal instinct. This game is brilliant, buy it and ENJOY!

D: survivor-horror classic,

Originally reviewed at Last-Gen.com:
The survivor horror genre seems to be a synonym for Resident Evil these days, but D was one of the pioneers of the interactive horror game phenomenon. Released in 1995 by the now defunct WARP, D was originally born on the ill-fated 3D0 console. The D love was later spread to more mainstream systems, the Sony PlayStation and the Sega Saturn. The game was truly revolutionary back then, with cinematic 3D graphics and eerie atmosphere that wasn't very common. Though the game hasn't aged very well, it's still an intriguing game to play for two hours. When I say two hours, I don't mean that you'll get bored, but really, that's how long it takes to beat it! The game does not support saving either, and creates a true film-like experience that you can enjoy in one sitting. The story is quite violent, even by today's standards: a doctor has gone mad and has started killing everyone in the hospital and the authorities have contacted his daughter, Laura, to being him to his senses. Of course, as fate would have it, they send you into the bloodstained hospital alone and without any communication device or weapon. Once you step inside the hospital, things just turn for the worse, as now you've entered a dimension that your father's twisted mind has spawned. Gruesome flashbacks haunt you as you discover that you're not such a model citizen either. You control Laura in the first person and see key events in third person. The graphics are very gloomy and claustrophobic, a very common setting in classic survivor horror (mostly due to technical limitations). Music is pretty much non-existent, just dreary notes playing over and over that make you feel very alone. The voice acting is pretty cheesy, and the only voice that you ever hear is Laura's father's (Laura frequently makes shuddering sounds, but that's about it). D has two endings and you must play the game twice to see each, which is a little annoying since the game is otherwise very linear (only recommended for the hardcore D fan). D is definitely a strange game; truly a game that influenced those that followed it, it's worth a playthrough if you find it for a decent price.

This is a must have for any gameplayer lusting for a "scary" game. This game leaves a suspense-filled experience for anyone that loves to wonder about the world, I played it when I was about 12 and loved it, and strived to play it again. Eventually I ppawned it off because I was stupid at the time, but I will eventually get it again. 3-disc set that just encourages you to play it. And do. It is a great game, just kind of slow. I never thought I would find it again, because it is so rare, and even in it's time was rare...

Scary,

This is the first "scary" game I've ever played and I did enjoy it very much. It starts off in a hospital that your character, Laura, goes to and she finds out her father has murdered everybody. You later find out he's a vampire and the D in this game stands for Dracula. This is strictly a puzzle game with little action but it is scary. Like when the wall of spikes comes charging at you and stops less than an inch from your eye. It's got a great story behind it and should be picked up.
