I have been using ethernet switches for almost 20 years. The DES 1105 was up and running within 2 minutes of un-boxing. That's a record. While it comes with a CD ROM, I can't imagine what it is needed for. I plugged in the wall wart power supply, plugged my Clear Wireless modem into one of the jacks on the back of the DES 1105, plugged a ethernet jumper cable into another port on the DES 1105 and then connected my notebook computer. My Windows notebook recognized the DES 1105 within about 5 seconds. My Son did the same (Macbook) and was up and running in seconds also. All this for under $20 delivered!

I would buy this ethernet switch again in a heart beat!
After frustration with the un reliable wi fi connection between my notebook PC and my Kyocera KR-2 wireless router, I decided just to go with a hard wired connection. Plus, NO WORRIES ABOUT SECURITY!

The green LED's on the front console of the DES 1105 are attractive (although a bit dated. Blue is more in style these days). The DES 1105 is very small (about the size of a sandwich).
