I still love to play this even though I've solved it with both endings.

The story begins in 1997. It's the dead of night in Los Angeles. There has been a mass murder at a general hospital on the outskirts of downtown. The perpetrator is the director of the hospital, Richter Harris. He has shut himself up in the hospital and taken a number of patients as hostages. The police are helpless, unable to move in. You play as Richter's only daughter, Laura Harris, who after hearing the situation, rushes to the Los Angeles from San Francisco , and drives alone to the tragic scene at the hospital ground. Help Laura to figure out the riddle of her transformed Father. The game sometime demands quick actions and a particular job to be done within a time limit. The game also has multiple endings.

D is a survival horror game with strong puzzle elements. The main character Laura get contacted by the police because her father, the chief doctor of a local hospital have apparently gone insane and killed several people, Laura enters the hospital where he have holed up to try to talk him down but once there she is transported to a nightmare world. Now Laura have two hours to figure out her father's secrets and unravel the darkness which clouds her past before her father is lost to her forever. When I first played this game as a Playstation rental (The PC and Playstation edition is about the same, I bought the PC one as it was cheaper.) I was just blown away. The game come on I think three discs and boy to it use them. By the standards of the time this game was published the whole thing looked like one, long cut scene, and the graphics on Laura and the world around her was just amazing and where good enough to really be spooky. Now many say that Silent Hill where the first game with good enough graphics to really be a horror game, however I say have a look at this one, while not as good as Silent Hill it is definitely scary and it was published four years before Silent Hill. Now I think there where horror games before this as well, however I am just saying that this game is sadly overlooked in the history of horror video games. Now D was originally made to showcase the 3DO console and as such it's main point is it's graphics. However while D's graphics where impressive when it was originally published it have not aged well and the game today appears as rather dated, unlike Silent Hill who had both graphics and game play, this game have only the graphics and a 16 year old game really can not brag about it's graphics anymore. Another problem with D is that if you know the puzzles then you can go through the game in 20 minutes, it will take a bit of time to figure everything out, but the game do not have a whole lot of replay value. D is a puzzle game as in the type where you walk around, you find items and figure out where to use them and that is about it, however the puzzles are interesting enough so all in all the game is rather good for a play through or two. The story of D is rather good and that alongside the graphics is what really steal the show. I do recommend D it is a good game, however you have to forgive the game it's age and just know that when this beauty came out it was amazing. If you like a good mystery and a good horror story then this game might be for you.

D is a fun game with a creepy atmosphere. The graphics are awesome for the PSone. The puzzles aren't that difficult and once you figure them out, you'll be able to beat D in less than an hour even though it is 3 discs. The replay value is good until you get all three endings, which are determined by what you do at the very end and how many of the four scarabs hidden throughout the game you find. I added a comment to another post saying where they are. I thought D was a great game. You can really tell the programmers put a lot of heart into it. It's not for those who might generally prefer action, but I can definitely recommend it to gamers who seek a little bit of the eerie. Don't pass it up if that sounds like you.
