The Amoi DA6 is a svelte little companion for the style-conscious, as well as the gadget lover. With a unique swiveling screen, support for GPRS data networks, as well as robust email and messaging, the DA6 is the perfect partner if you have GSM service.
Design
At first glance, the DA6 looks like just another clamshell. Looks can be deceiving, though, as the phone's designer cover actually flips up and rotates -- great for snapping photos with the phone's built-in camera. The large 128 x 128 TFT color display features support for 262,000 colors, and there's a five-way center button on the handset's button pad for controlling most of the phone's menus and features. The .3-megapixel camera unit is housed on the back of the phone and it can be rotated up to 180 degrees for getting the perfect shot. Up/down menu keys are located on the left side of the handset.
Calling Features
The DA6's built-in address book can hold up to 750 contacts with up to eight entries per contact. Other calling features include caller ID, call hold, auto-redial, a minute reminder, and a date and time indicator for missed calls. There's also a call log that displays the last 30 calls received and dialed. The phone ships with 40 polyphonic ringtones.
Messaging, Internet and Tools
If you need mobile messaging capabilities, the DA6 has you covered. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, and sound via MMS messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. The phone also ships with a built-in email client so you can stay on top of emails when you;r eon the go. A built-in wireless web browser allows you to get mobile web content right from your phone. Predictive text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
A number of handy software tools are bundled with the DA6 including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock. Other goodies include a lunar calendar and a bio-rhythm monitor.
Imaging and Entertainment
Use the DA6's camera to capture shots that can be sent to your friends via MMS messaging or email. The phone also supports custom themes and wallpapers. Three games come with the phone, as well.

The phone, itself is of a nicely designed shell. Past that there is nothing. It is clearly an older model, with a very poor quality camera. It could make calls out pretty well, however most of the menus were in chinese and the ring tones it came with were very obnoxious. I must admit that only reason I bought the phone in the first place was because of the nifty dragon-chrome design on the outside and the fact that the top part could turn around in order to take pictured of oneself. I ended up returning the phone just because it did not meet the quality demand that I had expected. This phone is not worth the $160 at all. However if teh price were halved, it could make a nice entry level phone for a younger person.

I purchased this phone from Amazon. Unfortunately, the Amoi DA6 I received did not have the dragon motif as pictured. The front was plain silver bordered in blue (beware). I specifically purchased this phone because of the dragon motif. That was my first disappointment, regretably there were more to come. Most of the menu options are in Chinese and the battery life is extremely poor. I charged the phone overnight and the battery would still be exhausted by the end of the day. If I forgot to charge it overnight the battery would be dead in the morning. The phone is not compatible with any service I know of, for downloading ringers and screensavers. The ringers/images pre-installed on the phone are awful and quite annnoying. The phone's overall design is quite outdated which gives it a retro look. The phone is cute but definitely not worth the price compared to other phones being offered on today's market.
