good kit for the money,
This review is from: DAC® Gunmaster® Universal Gun Cleaning Kit (Misc.)
This is a good kit for the price but no place for solvents or lubricants. The outer case was cracked when I recieved it. Inside the case is a cheap plastic organizer. It could have been made with a more durable plastic.

I bought this as a gift, and have actually used it after going shooting with the receipient. It is a great compact universal kit. The case is not as rugged as I would have liked, but if you don't take it in the field, it will work fine. Would buy for myself.

I am going to review what I received (see picture), so YMMV, as I got a kit with 9 brass rods, 10 brass brushes, 7 mops, 5 plastic handle brushes (2 double headed), 2 boxes of patches (lg & sm), 2 handles (the T-handle only fits free spinning rod) - plus 13 jags (!!) I could nit-pick about a couple things but the value was incredible. It says it included 5 brass adapters, but I got 6 with no duplicates. My only problem at this point is I could use some instructions. I admit to being kind of confused, having only used boresnakes on my long guns, but feeling I could do a better job, especially on the breech/receiver/bolt etc. This kit has everything and then some, only thing missing is solvent and oil. So DAC, where I would have docked you a point for including so many pieces without even a hint on assembly (the identification of items is just a list, i.e. why so many adaptors?), I can't and won't complain - 5 stars. If you order this kit, maybe you will also get lucky and get a much more "universal" and complete kit like I did. The 13 custom jags for patch running alone make the kit I received far superior to the pictured kit with slotted tips only. Good luck.

The kit is ok, you can get similar stuff at Walmart etc for around $15-20. The weakest link in this kit are the cleaning rods. The top piece that is supposed to spin freely to prevent the rifling from unscrewing the rods will get stuck or worse yet simply pop right out.I have stopped using the kit due to this and stick to the solid rod on my Mosin. It's probably ok for pistols, but for rifles I'd get something else.

Basic Cleaning Kit,

This is a basic cleaning kit with different size rods, wads and brushes used for rifles, shotguns or handguns. The brush bristles seem to bend easier than other brushes I have used, but still clean the barrel well. I haven't used the wads or nylon breach brush yet so I cannot comment on their effectiveness compared to others. The kit is light and very compact. However, the case and interior do not feel too sturdy so be careful. I would have liked a legend for all the brush and wad sizes to make finding the correct brush easier. I know most of the sizes by looking at them, but occasionally someone I clean with will force a brush a caliber or two larger down the barrel and bend the brush. A legend would help them find the right size more frequently since they are not as used to cleaning. A place in the kit to hold solvents and oil would have been great. Overall it is a nice cleaning starter kit.

wow this is a real nice kit the best I've used... the case is of good aluminum.the inner tray is kinda chincy but works and seems durable, actual tools are very high quality. it does lack nylon bore brushes but not a necessity also would rather the patch carriers were not plastic. but hey they always seem to be, patches are real good and the oil plugs look good too. I am a professional Gunsimth and personally use and reccomend this product.

Great cleaning kit, includes cleaning tools for handguns, revolvers, rifles and shotguns. The cleaning patches tend to tear apart easily, but again for the money this is a great kit if you have more then one kind of gun.

I would recommend you spend the extra money and get a good cleaning kit, the parts in this one are cheap and flimsy plastic. I wouldn't recommend at all.

Great gift for Dad (or you),

Dad is an old school Army dude with 50-60 WW2 era rifles that he keeps in excellent shape. The kinda guy who spends his day re-parkerizing barrels... for fun. I bought this cleaning kit for Christmas last year. It's a versatile kit, with a little more than most cleaning kits in the same price point. Dad loved it, and has made it his default cleaning kit. I will say, though, that the case it comes in is a little flimsy... you're definitely paying for the parts, not the case.
