I use my new backpack to carry my skateboard and my pool/park/downhill items: helmet, knee and elbow pads, wrist guards, slide gloves, a towel, skate tools, sometimes a sweatshirt, my cap, mp3 player, sunglasses. Everything fits nice with room to spare. The backpack is really great looking and well made. It is light, middle sized and comfortably to carry. I have not used it to carry books or a notebook, since I bought it for sports stuff, but this backpack would be really useful for school: it has a lot of space, a dedicated and protected notebook section (I would say for up to 14,5" inches), and lots of organizing little pockets on the front section. It also has an insulated pocket that could be very handy to carry snacks/cans. It has two side mesh pockets, I use one of them to carry a cooler bottle.
Item arrived fast and perfect, just as described.

The backpack itself is pretty awesome. But the image is misleading and makes the backpack look bigger than it really is. I can fit all my notebooks and books in it but I can't fit my laptop in it. arrived on time and was in perfect condition.

I've owned this pack for three years just about on the dot. I like the pack because it is comfortable, the outer is durable, the sternum strap makes commuting by bicycle more comfortable, and you really can't go wrong with the insulated beverage compartment. BUT, after using this pack for everything from school to commuting and grocery hauling to disc golfing and hiking to travel for three years, it has failed me and fallen apart to the point where it is unusable. It isn't the material of the outer wearing out or anything, rather the construction that has failed: the zippers of the main compartment have completely separated from the pack (so I can't close it), and the padded "partition" that separates the laptop compartment from the main compartment has come unstitched at the top, leaving a frayed mess of synthetic fiber. I am currently in contact with warranty representatives over at DaKine to see if this is covered as a manufacturer's defect, and we'll see how that goes, but I have been reminded more than once by friends that if it had been a Jansport, it would be repaired no questions asked for as long as I owned the thing. DaKine, on the other hand, wanted photos, a full description of the problem, and a receipt from three years ago to make their decision as to whether or not they will cover it. I'll see how that goes...

Bottom line: Nice pack when you buy it new, but it may fall apart after a few years of use, and DaKine may or may not decide to repair it.

I received my back pack in great timing and in perfect condition. I use it all the time for school and rock climbing trips as well, it's very sturdy and a great day use size. The water proof pouch for my computer is great as well and keeps it dry. I was very pleased with this product and seller too...

i've been hunting for the perfect bag for years and this one is it!

others said it appears bigger than the pic - the length is long, but its not as fat and bulky as most others. its really clean and tight looking but still holds a lot.

the built in lunchbox is amazing - keeps my drinks cool and i can put bananas in there and they won't get bruised! unheard of in a backpack. for design, i got the herring bone and so many people have said how nice the bag looks. plus the skateboard strap is perfect for holding my jacket when i don't want to wear it.

really, a great and sturdy bag! so happy.

I ordered this backpack because I needed something to accommodate my 13.3" macbook. It works perfectly fine, however there is a little wiggle room in the laptop compartment. I love the way this backpack disperses weight evenly so I don't feel the 30 pounds on my back as much as I did with my north face backpack. Great purchase, product shipped quickly. I would def. recommend this product.

I travel every weekend about 8 months out of the year so I need a good pack as my second carry on along with my roller bag. This Dakine Dual pack has just enough space in it to pack the main compartment full and still be able to fit my Macbook in the back notebook sleeve. The straps are padded nicely so when the bag is heavy it does not put too much strain on the shoulders. The front pockets are small but surprisingly hold a lot of things. Also you gotta love the cooler pocket on the front to keep drinks cold.

i got this backpack a couple weeks ago, pretty cool, but my 15.4 laptop didn't fit in the zipper that was designed for if, i have to keep it in the normal compartment, not a big deal
it's really confortable

I ordered the green colored backpack and it looks even better than the picture I looked at on Amazon. I use it for school, I've gone hiking with it, the straps can hold more than just a board I use it to hold my jacket so I don't have to carry it. Well worth the money!!

I purchased this backpack to ease the pain on my back from daily commutes to and from campus. It's a huge improvement from the old backpack I had, but after months of using it, I wish I had invested instead in a backpack that also has a hip strap, as these are becoming more readily available now and they take even more weight off of your back. I purchased my backpack in monoblue, which is a stunning color, but unfortunately it really shows dirt. The bottom of the backpack should have been made of thicker/darker material to make this less noticeable since backpacks can really only be spot cleaned.
