5.0 out of 5 stars The Standard Has Been Set for the Religion of Clubbing, May 6, 2002
By
Mike Staniak (Murfreesboro, TN USA. (Originally Melbourne, Australia: the club city)) - See all my reviews
When clubber's look for album's that enter the energy and atmosphere of the biggest clubs with the largest anthems into their own personal collection, it would be difficult to refuse entry to The Clubber's Bible Winter 2002. Pete Tong's masterful Essential Selection lable conjures up yet another mix of club tracks that originate from the depths of 2002's liveliest club scenes. The album samples some of the greatest tunes of 2001 and also previews the soon to be club hits of 2002.

The album first engages us on a journey through a selection of commercial house tracks including the Supermen Lovers killer "Starlight", and "Flawless" by The Ones. The dance floor is then set into a progressive house flurry with tracks like "The Real Life" by Raven Maize and "Papau New Guinea" produced by the Future Sounds of London. Setting clubber's hearts racing, the album climaxes with the energy of the 2002 trance scene set by the hard beats and energetic vocals of the progressive trance track "Stimulation" by T&M. The CD then caps off with the undernyably irresistable beat of DJ Tiesto's "Urban Train".

In the same light, CD two begins with the housey rhythms of Rubberneck and Armand Van Helden. The appearance of Roger Sanchez as The Neanderthal, fills the progressive house vibe with the track "Animal". Again, the energy of trance compliment the first CD with the melodic sounds of Delerium and the climactic episodes of "Clear Blue Water" by Oceanlab.

The Clubber's Bible Winter 2002 is most certainly a must have for any club enthusiast looking for the energy and environment of passion that only the worlds greatest clubs can bring. Like the first two Clubber's Bibles, Winter 2002 not only sets a new standard in club sounds but also sets the stage for things to come in the future of clubbing.

With this in mind, it's time to "worship your weekend"...
