Very easy to use spackling compound,

Dap usually has very good spackling material and this is even better. The color changing ability is very handy. Wet it's pink; dry it's white. Otherwise it's basically the normal quick dry spackling that you can use to repair defects in your drywall using a spatula and some sand paper.

Tackle that spackle job with this pink cream,

I am the Spackle Queen around the house--this has been going on since I was a teenager and my mom drove through the garage wall (just a little bit--not all the way into the dining room. But she left a sizable ding in the garage wall.) Dad handed me a bunch of plaster, spackle and paint and commanded "Fix it!" After thinking for a few minutes, I filled the dent with crumpled newspaper, filled that in with spackle, sanded and painted. My usually very critical, engineer Dad inspected the job and said "good enough!"
I recently used this spackling compound to fix a large hole in the bathroom wall. We had removed the toilet paper roll holder and there was a large, 1-2 inch diameter hole left by the toggle bolt. The person installing the new holder did not put it into the former hole, so I was left with this defect in the wall. I used a Drywall Repair Patch to cover the hole (this is a thin galvanized steel plate that sticks on the wall) and then used the spackling compound and mudded in the webbed area around the plate. After the pink spackling compound turned white, I sanded lightly and mudded it again with the spackle, let it dry and then sanded the entire patch. A coat of paint, and my bathroom wall looks perfect. For the impatient among us (me! me!) this spackle lets you know when it's dry by turning from pink to white. That is a good thing. Right now, I'm repairing some astonishing holes that the builder put behind a very regrettable 80's style bathroom fixture that I am replacing. I cannot for the life of me figure out why there are 10 little drilled holes in the wall behind this fixture but there they are--and the new fixture won't cover them. Out comes the Drydex. The whole job was done in a few minutes.

Best spackling yet,
This review is from: DAP Drydex Dry Time Indicator Spackling, 1-Quart Tub #12330 (Tools & Home Improvement)
This spackling takes the guess work out of repair jobs. It still takes as long to dry but you don't have to keep going back to test it. Also, you don't have to worry about finger prints/markings from checking to see if it is dry. That saves time and extra applications. It goes on pink and when you notice it is white it is ready to sand and/or paint. It is a great product, I suggest it to anyone.
