The DASH Diet Action Plan is an easy-to-read, commonsense guide to getting your diet on track to lower blood pressure and cholesterol. The book includes some simple, but tasty sounding recipes that I plan to try, and sample menus are given for 1200, 1600, and 2000 a day diets. There is even space, workbook style, for you to include your own notes for your personalized action plan. The last presents a problem, though, because this paperback binding is so poor that the book fell apart the first day I began writing in it. The information in this text is excellent, but I suggest finding the book in a hardcover format if you really plan to use this book as a how-to manual.

My husband and I are both on this diet and loving it. My husband's blood pressure was "edging" up..now better after three weeks. We know his cholesterol is down.
The food is excellent...there is enough variation that you don't get bored. We plan on completeing the 4 week plan and just start over again.
This is the healthiest food plan we've ever followed.

I was a nonbelieer that a change in diet would actually have an affect on my blood pressure.
I'm into week 3 of the diet and have actually dropped 10 points on my BP!
I'm a bleiever! Try it, it does work.

This has been amazing for me. I am on 5 drugs for my blood pressure and even so it has crept up to dangerous levels. I started this diet and followed it faithfully and within 2 weeks my BP had dropped right down to a level which is lower than I have ever been in my life. What's more, I have lost 5 pounds into the bargain without really trying. Definitely worth buying.

Actually ordered this book for my daughter. I have had a copy for several years, and practically live by it. I would certainly recommend it for anyone who has hypertension. It has helped me tremendously in managing my hypertension, and now it is helping my daughter as well. For anyone who is willing to change their lifestyle to gain better health!

I was impressed with this book though I had researched the DASH diet prior to purchasing the book. Great menus for a month, which is very helpful, and this is a lifestyle I can live with forever. I've lost 24 pounds and don't feel I've deprived myself, so I know I can live with it for life...and a better life with lowered BP (less meds now).
