They are really modern looking and sound great. THE SUBWOOFER IS PASSIVE, MEANING IT DOES NOT HAVE A POWER CORD, SO YOU NEED A DVD PLAYER/AMPLIFIER/RECEIVER TO POWER THE SUBWOOFER AND SPEAKERS. SUBWOOFER DOES NOT PLUG INTO THE WALL FOR POWER. These can sit as shown or be mounted on the wall.
