5.0 out of 5 stars An EXCELENT C.D.! - ALL 24 of their 24 hits are here. ALL ORIGINAL RECORDINGS.
ALL 24 of 'The DC5' hits are here in this excelent 33 track c.d.
That fact alone makes this an outstanding and impressive collection.
The Dave Clark Five is an important piece of history of the British invasion,
and were the only group that gave the Beatles some real competition.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok but sometimes distorted sound
This was a fun selection of one of my favorite groups. Unfortunately the recording occasionally has some distortion while playing. It is not consistent but irritating when it occurs.

5.0 out of 5 stars An EXCELENT C.D.! - ALL 24 of their 24 hits are here. ALL ORIGINAL RECORDINGS., April 27, 2010
This review is from: THE DAVE CLARK FIVE GREATEST HITS(Australian Import) (Audio CD)
ALL 24 of 'The DC5' hits are here in this excelent 33 track c.d.
That fact alone makes this an outstanding and impressive collection.
The Dave Clark Five is an important piece of history of the British invasion,
and were the only group that gave the Beatles some real competition.
In 1964 their first appearance, of 18, on the Ed Sullivan Show boosted their exposure.
Their first release in 1964 "Glad all over", was a top ten hit,
and a string of hits followed.
From 1964 to 1967 they had 24 songs chart in the U.S.A.

This list is the 14 that made the top 20, and the 3 b-sides that are here.
(8 of the 14 were top ten hits)
1. "Glad all over" -- 1964. Top ten.
2. "Bits and pieces" -- 1964. Top ten.
3. "Do you love me" b/w "Chaquita" -- 1964. Top 20.
4. "Can't you see that she's mine" -- 1964. Top ten.
5. "Because" b/w "Theme without a name" -- 1964. Top ten.
6. "Everybody knows (I still love you)" -- 1964. Top 20.
7. "Any way you want it" -- 1964. Top 20.
8. "Come home" -- 1965. Top 20.
9. "I like it like that" -- 1965. Top ten.
10. "Catch us if you can" -- 1965. Top ten.
11. "Over and over" -- 1965. Top ten.
12. "At the scene" -- 1966. Top 20.
13. "Try to hard" -- 1966. Top 20.
14. "You got what it takes" -- 1967. Top ten.

"Look before you leap" is the b-side of "Please tell me why" 1966,
and is the 3rd b-side mentioned above.
"Catch us if you can" is here twice,
track 19 being the mono "hit" single, and track 33 in stereo.

These songs landed outside of the top 20:
1. "I knew it all the time" -- 1964. Top 100.
2. "Reelin' and rockin'" -- 1965. Almost made it to the top 20.
3. "Please tell my why" -- 1966. Top 40.
4. "Satisfied with you" -- 1966. Top 100.
5. "Nineteen days" -- 1966. Top 100.
6. "I've got to have a reason" -- 1967. Almost made it to the top 40.
7. "You must have been a beautiful baby" -- 1967. Top 40.
8. "A little bit now" -- 1967. Top 100.
9. "Red and blue" -- 1967. Top 100.
10. "Everybody knows" -- 1967. Almost made it to the top 40.

Here is a summary of whats here:
24 charted songs, 3 b-sides, "Catch us if you can" in an extra stereo version,
and 5 obscure songs, = 33.
14 of the tracks are momo, the other 19 are 'true stereo'.

Though there are these 5 obscure tracks, there is not a bad song on this album.
1. "I walk the line".
2. "Funny".
3. "Whenever you're around".
4. "I want you still".
5. "Sometimes".

A collection of this kind has not previously been available,
these 33 tracks are 'not too little, and not too much', yet complete.
The front cover pictures them when they were young,
the back cover (and on the c.d.) pictures the group a few years later.
There are only a few comments about the tracks of the c.d.,
nothing about their career, BUT this is indeed the ORIGINAL recordings.
Produced by "Eclipse Records" 1992 digitally mastered at D.E.A. Studios,
Melbourne, Australia.
My copy came from Amazon, - it is not distorted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything you always wanted with the DC5 but couldn't ever find!, October 2, 2010

This CD is remarkable in that it has every original hit that the Dave Clark 5 ever compiled in the US, plus some early gems of which I was unaware. It has been great to acquire the one missing link in my "British Invasion" collection, as this music was and is a touchstone to the past. It is a great shame that this band is almost forgotten.
Enjoy a great band reflecting a wonderful musical time in rock history. If you are into 60s music, this CD is a must-have.

This heralded British Invasion group from the sixties achieved success in North America surpassed only by the Beatles. Somehow, these great songs are difficult to obtain, but they are all conveniently here on this Australian import CD.
