Warning: Ordered this product, received yesterday a frame resembling the picture, but plastic, not "solid wood" as advertised. Have sent a complaint to the seller.

I purchased a few of these frames to house some certificates, and the color is a perfect dark brown color. The edges of the frame have a beveled look. It's not solid wood, and I wouldn't expect it to be for the price, but it does create a great look for the certificates.

There is one thing I wish the frames had, and that's a hanging string. In place of that is some preforated parts on the cardboard backing that you can punch out to use for hanging.

I get compliments on the frame a lot for how well it holds the certificates.

I bought this for work to display our iso 9000 certification. From a few feet back looks great. Up close, you might think it looks a little bit plastic.
