5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice strings, February 3, 2012

This review is from: D'Addario EXL110W Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings, Regular Light, Wound 3rd, 10-46 (Electronics)
Regular D'Addario .010s, but with a wound 3rd. These sound much more balanced to my ear than the regular EXL110s. Highly recommended for guitars with Filter'Tron or Jazzmaster style pickups.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love these strings, September 24, 2011

Guitarists get brand-territorial beyond all reason when it comes to strings, and everyone weights the various attributes differently. So I can only give my own two cents:

I love these strings. I play a lot of different electric guitars: Fender Strat & Tele, Gibson SG, Les Paul & ES-335. I use the EXL 110W's for all of them. The wound 3rd (G) string is the key for me, this finally eliminated the dreaded "twangy G" that plagued me for years (especially on the Strat). These strings are bright, lively, bend easily enough, but still have plenty of oomph in the low strings. They last a long time, stay in tune, and I have never broken one in normal play.

Everyone should try out different strings from time to time, to "play the field". That's certainly what I did - and I ended up with these. Might not recommend them for acoustics, though - unless you are a beginner or a junior player.

5.0 out of 5 stars Round Wounds are smooth, September 6, 2010

This review is from: D'Addario EXL110W Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings, Regular Light, Wound 3rd, 10-46 (Electronics)
Everyone has their own preference with guitar strings. But there's a level of quality with these round wounds that feel strong and smooth beneath your fingers. The price is decent and beats that of my local music store. I use them on a Fender Strat and an Epihphone Les Paul Studio. A very comfortable sting to play.
