I have a Fender bass and the strings that came with it always had my fingers wounded after everytime I practice and play at church. When I finally decided to change the strings, I did some research and I found that this D'Addario 2-Pack Bass Strings is the best seller on the Guitar Center and Musician's Friend website and it had pretty good reviews so I tried it. I have been using it for almost 2 months. Now my hands don't get wounds anymore. The strings are smoother than one's I used before and they sound better too. The price is nice for a 2-pack bass string set.

I was introduced to these stings about 1993 by a friend who restrung my guitar for me. I was using Boomer or something at the time, and even as a beginner I could tell a big difference in the feel. I'm not a big tone snob, so I've not noticed much on the tone being good or bad, esp since I use a lot of distortion ala Big Muff. I have friends who use more expensive coated Elixers and stuff like that. And after over 15 years of playing I cant tell much difference betwen these and those. I think a lot is in the mind of the player. But I know there are some seasoned player with incredible ears and could tell the difference a mile away, but I'm not one of those guys. I like the minimal packaging, being environmentally conscious and all. And for the price they are above the quality of anything of equal value, and maybe more. I think after playing a months with these any Elixer fan would have to admit they are just as good, even better if you consider the price.
