This review is from: D'Addario EXL180 Nickel Wound Bass Guitar Strings, Extra Super Light, 35-95, Long Scale (Electronics)
focused, bright tone, easy on fingersi've been always biased toward d'addario, i've tried many brands, always returned. this is the gauge i use in all my basses, and if you say you cant play rock with this ones, you are wrong. many fat gauges lack of a singing tone in all their strings, you would get a nice tone on the lighter 3, but a dead mute with no sustain on the widest. the characteristic i like most is that continuous balance, feel and tone across the four strings, like a 96 fretted one string bass.
