nice sound easy on old fingers,

I was having a bit of trouble fretting my new mandolin (my old fingers are not what they used to be) so a friend suggested these strings to me, they really are much easier on the fingers and they produce a warm sound perfect for the type of small group folk scenes I enjoy. if you are younger or play a lot of the louder bluegrass/jazz style the D'Addario J74 strings (sold here on Amazon) may be more to your liking

I'm a beginner and the Flat Tops are easier on my fingers. I like them a lot. They have a very bright sound.

These strings give a mellow and full harp like sweet sound great for classical music. Its not a brilliant sound as for jazz
