D'Addario J53 Ukulele Strings, Hawaiian-Concert

I bought these strings to replace the rather flat and dull sounding original strings on my Uke. I noticed a difference right away, they sound brigher and the instrument is a little louder as well. They aren't going to make a cheap Ukulele sound like an expensive one, but for a few dollars they made a nice improvement. I went from clear strings to black which I think made my Uke look better as well. I will buy them again.

First off, I'm NO ukulele expert. That being said: I replaced the original strings on my new Mahalo U-35PK Sparkling Soprano Ukulele Outfit in Pink with these. I know they stated Concert, however, reading up on this, they can still be used on a soprano or standard uke. Immediately I noticed a difference in sound on these strings. Like another reviewer said, it's not going to perform miracles on a cheap uke, but it sure helped out a lot. The sound is quite a bit louder and so much brighter as well. I'm loving the sound. Also, I really like the way they look on my pink uke; it's a nice touch. I would definitely recommend these.

After buying a new concert ukulele and reading a bunch of advice on the Internet I was convinced that I needed to replace the stock strings that came with the instrument. I bougnt a set of D'Addario strings in the hope that the sound would improve and the uke would stay in tune longer. I have had the new D'Addario strings on my ukulele for about a month now and frankly I don't see much variation from the ones that came with my instrument. I suppose a "real" musician would notice a difference, but an old uke plunker like myself can't see a big change. The D'Addario black strings are OK and they look better on the uke than the clear ones that came with it. I can recommend the strings if you want or need a replacement, but don't expect musical miracles.

When I got these strings, I was heisitant about it because, well it was plastic as well as my stock strings. However, the stringers were a bit softer. When I put the strings on and removed my stock strings, they sang. The strings proved to be so much better and blew out my stock strings! It sounded better and it was louder (which helps also because I have a soprano ukulele)! It was totally worth the buy!

I purchased the strings to replace an old ukulele's original strings. It looks great and although the strings are still stretching, the sound is much clearer and vibrant. Would strongly recommend this product to others.

this came in very FAST! it was the second day i got it in the mail. i got this for my soprano ukulele. its better to get this for soprano because the strings are twice as long! so you dont have to buy strings again. I'm very amazed about this!

Tried several brands of uke strings including Martin, but, found these to be my favorites. They set soon and hold there tone for months, although I check their tone @/least once a day when playing. Great product @/a great price.

I've loved D'Addario for guitar and bass strings in the past and they continue to impress me with these ukulele strings. And a bonus these black strings give my blue uke an awesome look too. Would definitely recommend all D'Addario products.

I bought a couple of packs of these for the two ukuleles we recently bought. While the strings that originally came with mine weren't bad at all, replacing them with these made the instrument much louder.

My husband's uke had horrible strings with it. He tuned it and said that it just didn't sound "ukulele enough". I tuned it and its tone was still very "flat" sounding. There was an instant improvement after we replaced the strings with these strings, and everything sounded approximately 93.6% better.

I bought these strings to replace the original strings that came with my Mahalo U-200, a soprano, if you were wondering, and they work absolute magic. Yes, that's right. Concert strings work on soprano ukuleles. Who knew? Anyways, they give my ukulele a nice, louder, and brighter tone; and the black strings look sleeker and sexier than the original clear strings, but that's just my opinion. One thing I'll have to add is that if you are planning to use this for a soprano ukulele, there's be enough to string them twice. Keep that in mind.

I'll just say that if I ever need to replace my strings again, I'll probably buy these. Just saying.
