This is a 12 piece set made and designed by Limoges. The artist Ganeau expressing woman's history of change and fashion. Very fine porcelain. The women are representing the date of 1865-1965. Each unique and beautiful. Plate I 1865 "Scarlet en Crinoline" begins the century as the unworldly ideal of inaccessible womanhood. Plate II 1875 "Sarah en Tournure" will be the provacative woman of temptation taking her first steps as a force in society. Plate III 1890 "Colette, la Femme Sportive" will be the tailored lady who dares to demand the right to vote. Plate IV 1900 "Lea la Femme Fleur" will be the woman of the belle epoque who has the power to bestow social status by her attentions. Plate V 1910 "Albertine, la Femme Liane" will be the flowing symbol of woman's new freedom in a man's world. Plate VI 1915 "Edith" will be the first modern woman who won't be an ornament. Plate VII 1925 "Daisy" will be the flapper who flaunts her freedom. Plate VIII 1935 "Marlene la Vamp" first to admit her power over men. Plate IX 1943 "Helene" will keep the feminine banner flying amid the ravages of war. Plate X 1947 "Sophie Mode New Look" personifies Dior's famous but momentary return to old fashioned femininity. Plate XI 1960 "Francoise" leaves no doubt of her independence with equal right to the traditional uniform of man. Plate XII 1965 "Brigitte" completes the century as a symbol of emancipation.
