I bought this as a spare battery for my new Canon digital camera. The battery costs a fraction of what the store where I bought the camera wanted to charge me for an extra battery. I've been using it, along with the original battery, for about a month now. The battery life seems good and it fits the charger and camera perfectly. The only complaint, a very small one, is that that battery is very slightly thinner than Canon's so the end cap, to protect the contacts, is loose and falls off. I just put them together in a small plastic bag to keep the contacts from accidently shorting on anything.

Worked just fine for a few months. I thought it had been a great deal, but after 6 months, these batteries don't work at all!
I even thought that something was wrong with the camera, because the battery charged up just fine, but the camera wouldn't turn on. Finally, I charged the original battery that came with the camera, and it worked.
These batteries are much cheaper then the original canon batteries, but it's not worth it! I was counting on extra batteries for my trip in northern Brazil, but all I had was the one original.
Bottom line: DON'T BUY THESE BATTERIES!!!!

I purchased two of these cheap substitutes (MaximalPower 3.7V 800mAh Li-ion batteries) for the Canon NB-5L camera battery. One of them began to dangerously overheat when in my camera.
The other battery will not hold a charge beyond 10 pictures. It recharges in 5 minutes.
I consider both batteries to be defective and consequently would not recommend that anyone purchase them.
I also have a Canon NB-5L camera battery that came with my Canon PowerShot SD950 IS digital camera. It continues to function well.

I bought this because I bought a camera that takes this type of battery, it does have a good life charge and I have a quick charger so it charges pretty fast.

No one else has pointed out that this battery has a capacity of 800mAh--the Canon has 1120mAH. So this delivers only 71% of the power.

Not a big deal IF you only use it around the house where an extra battery and charger is handy and you're not using it outside in cold weather long enough to let the battery get cold.

But it's not a good choice for camping or travel unless you take extras.

I found no difference between this battery and the one that came with my Cannon camera. Works just great, no reason to give it less than 5 stars.

I bought a couple of these batteries for my Canon SD900. They worked well for a few months then started to retain less and less charge. A year later, they are good for a few pictures then they die (but recharge very quickly). I am now going to buy the original Canon replacement battery.

Didn't recharge on the charger supplied with the camera. It was a waste of money.

These batteries were selling for over $30 at Staples! Not only were they much, much less expensive through Amazon, but they arrived when promised.

This battery charges fast, works well. There is no noticeable difference between the original factory battery and non- factory one.
