5.0 out of 5 stars Good batteries
I bought two of these batteries to serve as spares for the KLIC7004 which powers my Kodak Zi8. They recharge in 90 minutes and are long lasting. I am quite pleased with them and would highly recommend them. As they are Li-Ion batteries they have no "memories" so it's quite permissible to take a half charged battery and recharge it frequently without causing any damage...

Some reviews claim this battery is better than the original simply because the mAh is 1100. I decided to get to the bottom of it once and for all by comparing 3 different batteries. The original Kodak KLIC-7004 Kodak Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery/KLIC 7004, this mid priced battery - the MaximalPower Maximalpower DB FUJ NP50 Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery for Fuji NP50, Pentax DLI-68, Kodak KLIC7004 & Zi8, and the even cheaper generic Kodak KLIC-7004 / Fuji Np-50 / Pentax DL-I68 Compatible Li-Ion Battery .

Using the Kodak zi8 camera set to 720p @60FPS, I fully charged each battery and let them record until the unit shut off. Here are the results:

Kodak KLIC-7004: 78 Minutes
MaximalPower: 65 Minutes
Cheap Generic: 57 Minutes

Not surprisingly, the original Kodak battery was the best. Proof that you get what you pay for if you insist on the best. In terms of value for your buck, the cheapest one is the way to go. You can buy a handful of them at the price of one Kodak battery.

Overall, it makes this mid priced battery irrelevant. Either go for the cheapest one or if you're a real stickler for that extra time per battery, then go with the Kodak.

Went to Vegas with my new Fuji camera so I bought this battery as a backup. We were there for 4 days. The factory battery lasted 2 days and this battery made it the rest of the way and had some charge left when we came home. Between the two batteries I took around 400 pictures, a lot with flash at night. If you buy this you will not be dissapointed!

I bought this battery as a backup when I purchased the Kodak Zi8, and I'm so glad that I did. Maybe the Kodak battery that came with the camera is defective, but it lasts a shameful 30-45 minutes.

I'm not exactly sure how long the Maximalpower battery lasts because it hasn't died yet! I recently took both batteries on a trip to San Francisco. The Kodak battery died within the first hour of use while the Maximal lasted the whole weekend. I even got home and began watching videos from my trip on the camera's playback mode and it STILL hasn't died :)

I bought two of these replacement batteries for my Koday Playsport because the original battery that comes with the camera has very poor battery life so I wanted to have some backup. It's really good, it has a good battery life. The package says it's battery life will improve over time (after 6 full cycles) and it's true.

And the best part is that this battery is SUPER cheap. Get it, you won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seems to be a good product, January 12, 2012

I bought this for my new Fujifilm X-10. The battery arrived in a charged state, which made me a little uneasy because I thought that it might have been a returned item. Nevertheless, I charged it on the Fuji charger and it was up to speed in a couple of hours, not the 10 hours prescribed by the supplier. Normally, this is a "red flag" situation because if your charging time is low (on a responsible charger), then your battery capacity is also low. Unless, of course, the battery is only partially discharged.
Amazingly, the Battery is performing well. So, either I got a good one (could be Japanese cells assembled in China) or the newer batteries are better quality than the ones experienced by some older reviewers. My X-10 puts quite a strain on the battery (lots of stuff going on) so time will tell. Anyway, out of the shoot, so to speak, this puppy seems to "take a lickin' and keeps on tickin'." I will keep you posted as time goes by.
BTW, Li-ion cells take a few charges to "form" so their initial capacity improves as they are "broken in." Also, it is not a good idea to run them "dry." They do not like that kind of treatment. Thus, a pair of batteries is a good way to go. They are small and carrying a spare is not a big deal. Swapping them out at about 50% discharge and topping them up before a long shooting session just makes good sense. Remember the logistics involved when you had to carry cassettes of film and disposable AA or $123$ cells in the "bad old days?"
Besides, these little guys are cheap and ship for free, if you're a PRIME subscriber. While Li-ion electrochemistry is constantly improving, there are always "new old stock" items on the shelf and these are usually "priced to move."
Apparently, MaximalPower, at least through this "Amazon Prime" vender, is selling fresh technology - at this time.
Even with all these "caveats," so far so good. We shall see. More to come.

Could not be better for the price. We purchased 2 of these to use in our Kodak Playsport during a recent cruise to the Caribbean. Both worked as well as the one that came with the Kodak Playsport. To get the maximum life from the battery you should fully charge and discharge it about two times when you receive the battery. We are happy with our purchase.

I bought this battery as a backup for our Kodak Playsport for our trip to Disney. We just returned and the battery did outstanding!! I had heard that these batteries had to be used a few times to get a long charge out of them but ours did great on the first charge. Very happy with the purchase.

I don't mind buying non factory batteries and memory if they work and last. This one works as well or better than the original equipment and I saved some $$ for the next order.
