Product Description

So you've rolled out the perfect pasta sheets. You've turned them into fresh, homemade spaghetti, fettuccine or linguine strands. And much as you're tempted to eat them all right then and there, you want to hang-dry them for future use.

Now, before you run to your clothing closet and fetch the nearest plastic hanger, allow us to introduce the better pasta hanging apparatus: the beautiful pasta drying rack from DB Tech. Made from natural, traditionally unfinished wood, our rack features six 18-inchlong wooden dowels. Combine that with its 17-inch height profile, and this one rack gives you a total of nine feet of drying space. Unfinished wood also means no chemical paints or lacquers coming in contact with your food, and conveniently non-sliding hanging surfaces.

The dowels are positioned offset from one another to keep pasta strands from sticking and clumping together. Simple assembly consists of threading these dowels through the center post and then screwing the post into the stability-enhanced base. For disassembly, simply follow the same steps in reverse. All rack pieces lay flat and require only one inch of space height for storage.

Customer Reviews

I love how easy it is to take the dowels out and store the rack.
Jennifer B.
First, the base is attached with a screw, which means you have to have a Phillips head screwdriver.

This is a really good product easy to put together and is made really well.

I love this! Instead of covering my whole cupboard with towels and pasta to dry, I have this instead! I am able to dry 1 1/2 # of pasta on this rack. It is easy to assemble and store. It is stable, won't fall over even if I put pasta on one half and not the other.

I was quite surprised at the quality of this pasta drying rack. A rack is a rack, but what was nice about it is the base. It is approximately 8" in diameter and approximately 3/4" deep. It's very heavy and if I'm not mistaken, it's made of maple. The edges have been routed and it's very smooth. Anyone who makes pasta will definitely love the look and the value is unmistakable.

When I went to assemble it, which was very quick and easy, I found the necessity to drill a slightly larger hole in the base of the stand. Included is a sheetrock screw that can be stored back in its little bag when the rack is disassembled. I'm finding that it's best to keep it in the original box to make it easy to tuck away in a cupboard. This is a nice stand that is not only solid, but a fully functional one for those who make pasta.

As often as making fresh pasta - a favorite around holiday time especially – the mess in finding clean places to clean and flour and protect just to have space to hang the freshly cut pasta to dry is always problematic. Not any more.
With this well made, wooden, compact (takes very little space on the butcher block or counter) dryer with adjustable dowel pins allows the space to dry a lot of fresh pasta without decorating the kitchen temporarily. When in container it is small enough to keep by your pasta press yet large enough when assemble to dry all that left over pasta in any form that always seems to extra. According to the package insert it supplies hanging space for nine feet of drying pasta!

The wood is untreated (meaning safe form chemicals), easily washable, and one assembled it is actually attractive enough to allow it to stand in the kitchen until the past is dry and ready for storage. This is a must for chefs who include pasta making in their repertoire, and it makes a thoughtful gift for friends of like persuasion. Grady Harp, November 13

This is a very nice pasta drying rack. It is made out solid natural color wood. This pasta drying rack consists of the 6 drying dowels inserted into the central pole. The dowels are removable, while the central pole is permanently attached to the base with a screw (provided). The dowels are inserted into the holes which are offset from each other so none are directly over the others. The dowel can be extended at will to different length on each side of the central pole.

Each dowel is 17.75" long. The central pole 15.5" tall. The base is 6.25" in diameter.

The central pole attaches to the base with one screw, the pole has a small pilot hole. The pilot hole on my pole turned out to be a bit too small. It was difficult to tighten by screw by hand and I had to use a drill screwdriver. If I were to do it again I would enlarge the pilot hole slightly before putting the rack together.

The weight of the rack is 1 lb 6 oz without the dowels, and 1 lb 10 oz with the dowels. Since the dowels are not permanently attached to the central pole they can be removed for storage.

When I don't use the rack for drying pasta, I use the base and the central pole to hold a paper towell roll in the basement. I love gadgets that have multiple uses!

I was provided a sample pasta rack for evaluation and review, and I thought it was well designed and useful in multiple ways.

I love to make my own home made noodles. But it makes a big mess, since my kitchen is small I hardly ever make them anymore as it is too much clean up for one meal and a big hassle getting the pasta maker out and set up. But this little drying stand is perfect for my small space. I can have enough noodles for a meal for 4 drying on it tucked out of the way on my limited counter space, and be making a second batch for eating fresh. I know it doesn't sound like much, but being able to get twice as much done makes the clean up seem a little more worth while.

It is fairly easy to assemble, as the dowel arms just slide thru holes in the main dowel trunk. As far as coming apart easily, well the middle dowel has to be screwed in to the base and it just appears that once it is together, if taken apart it may not screw in correctly a second or third time. I am not 100% certain about that but since I have a place on my table for it I am keeping it assembled.

If you like making noodles, this is a nice dryer.
