I am very pleased with this umbrella stand. First of all, the pole holder has a 3-piece adjuster (made of hard plastic): 1,4", 1,5" and 1,9" in diameter so no more worries that the umbrella pole will not fit. The base is heavy enough to hold 9' patio umbrella without a support of a table. But of course it is more secure to have such a support. The stand is darker in color than the picture shows. It is not supposed to rust. Overall, this is a great deal and you do not need to pay an extra $20-$30 for shipping. I would recommend this product with no doubt.
Update 07-25-10: From time to time this umbrella stand is offered by Amazon at the price $34.99 with free shipping, and by other seller for $39.99 and over $20 of shipping costs. I would recommend to wait till it is a better deal. If you are afraid that an umbrella would spin in the stand, glue a little piece of rubber to the end of a screw inside the stand pole. I did this and my umbrella does not spin.
Update 08-23-10: The stand does not rust at all. It has already survived several rains with one of the hell (I am sorry for this expression) long lasting pouring and it still looks like new even if I did not get rid of the water off its top. I can see now that I really made a great "steal-buy".
Update 10-08-11: Today I packed my umbrella stand and put it in the garage. It still looks as good as new. I do not leave it outside during the winter. I have to admit that this was one of my best buys on Amazon.com.

I am very happy with this purchase. Beautiful and sturdy. The rust free materials are not a hazard to my Trex deck. I like not having to worry as I would with a "rust resistant" product. The pricing is good for the quality.

Darker than shown. True bronze finish. Priced right w/free shipping. Perfect fit for my 9 foot market umbrellas from Costco!

Altough it does collect a little water in the top design, it's not going to rust (composite 'stone'... concrete?)so I have no complaints. It's a good looking, heavy umbrella base. Was simple to assemble and included three adapter sleeves to hold anything from a relatively slim steel umbrella pole to a large wooden market style pole. I like it.

This item is of good quality, although the packaging was not durable enough for the weight. When we received the item, a large corner had been broken off. Rather than send the item back and have to pay shipping charges, we just fixed it. We have had strong winds for the past several months, and the stand has yet to topple over, due to what I believe is the square base instead of a round one. I would still recommend this item to others.

Looks as good as in the picture. Very sturdy. Nice and heavy, to keep an umbrella from tipping over. Comes with adjustment pieces that allow any umbrella to fit just right.

The umbrella stand arrived in a timely manner, but it was irritating that the delivery required a signature. While assembling the stand, I discovered that one of the plastic pieces was broken. Hopefully the seller will replace the defective part. Otherwise, the item appears to be what was ordered.

My umbrella base arrived yesterday, broken in two pieces. It appears as though there is not enough packing material around it to protect it during shipping. Amazon Returns will replace at no charge. We will see how the next one arrives.

The product is great. Nice and heavy, and looks very nice. Couldn't ask for more.

As for the shipper, move on and use someone else. My first base arrived in a shredded box - just the base no upper support, which means it's a REALLY heavy paperweight. So, they sent me a new one free of charge, that one arrived with all of the pieces and some extras - all the corners have been chipped off. I didn't want to deal with the hassle any longer and just kept it.

Great product, but go buy it somewhere else.
