Two reviewers say they received this item without the center pole to hold the umbrella pole in. I am interested in buying this base also, but also want to know if it comes with the center pole like the picture shows, or not. Please respond.

I received my base on time, it's nice and heavy and will look great on my deck... when I can use it. Based on the picture and description I assumed that it would come with a pole assembly.

It did not.

I ordered a 30lb paperweight.

It's too darn heavy to bother returning and I would gladly just order the pole portion from the maker if they would respond to any of the messages or emails I've left.

I had the same experience as the earlier reviewer: the base looks good but is useless as an umbrella stand without the pole. I am returning it today and asking for a replacement. Hopefully someone will read my actual complaint and include the pole. Other composite material bases are highly rated and must come with the ability to actually use them for other than paperweights. I am optimistic that this base has been the victim of a packaging misunderstanding at the supplier.

I opened the box, which was quite tattered, and the base was broken in two. However, it did come with the pole like the picture shows. Other reviews stated that the pole was missing. I ordered a replacement so hopefully it will be in one piece.

I bought this item because it looked nice in the pictures. When I received the package I was very dissapointed. The quality of the product is not very good. The Pole stem had dents in it/paint flaked off, and doesn't even mount straight. Not sure what I will do with it, and if Amazon will do anything about it. Please be aware and do not purchase this item. You will be dissapointed just like I am. I am suprised Amazon is selling such sub standard products
