This was a very expensive toy only to find out it falls apart in days. Read on...

BAD:
- After opening the package and moving the figure's leg (I am 30 years old), the knee joint cracked. After the first one cracked, trying the other knee only made sense. It also cracked. Junk! I am very upset. It is very upsetting to watch a child look at you as you unintentionally break their toy\present because of manufacturing defect.

- Due to the Holiday we didn't have a chance to return it because of travelling, and now we are past our return period for Amazon.

If you look at my reviews, this is the 3rd Superman I have purchased that has broken in the same spot. Using plastic for the knee joints is just ridiculous . The 1985 version of Superman had a aluminum pin as the joint and it still works today.

This product is a lemon.

GOOD (if the legs didn't break):
- It is fun.
- The face is scuplted and cast molded very nicely.

I have a 3 year old that is getting in to all of the superhero yadadada, so I did what most parents will do and bought him a superhero toy. I looked at other superman toys/action figures, this one seemed to be the most awesomest compared to the rest. In terms of the toy/ action figure itself (I'm skeptical to put it in that category considering how fragile it turned out to be), it looks great, has a nice weight to it, and he has an awesome rubber or rubberish cape. Oh, and comes with a circular plastic stand that has a peg on it to which there is a corresponding peg-hole on superman's right foot so you can put him into cool poses for your child to completely not care about and go on with trying to fly him around the room.

Anyways, it definitely is much less awesome than I previously thought. It took all of 4 hours for my son to be holding, running around with, and otherwise playing with this toy (I know a child playing with a toy nowadays and not expecting it to be a cheap piece of s***, my bad toy manufacturers) for him to have broken superman's weak-a** left patella and removed his super-cool rubberish cape from his shoulders. On further inspection, of course the cape was stuck on with a little bit of glue at its origin, and in other places (his back) had the peg/peg-hole configuration I previously mentioned (why didn't they do the whole peg/peg-hole configuration for the whole cape thereby making it removable and at the same time not a pain in the butt if your child decides to pull on it and completely remove it which makes me have to try to glue the stupid crap back together only for my son to rip it off the next day).

My 4-year-old had the same experience as the other reviewer whose son easily broke the figure's knee. This time, though, it only took a few minutes after we took the figure out of the packaging.

This is a really great superman figure, even with its limited poseability, it is very detailed. I love how big the S on his chest is and how delailed the muscles and costume are, the only drawback for me was there was no yellow S on the back of his cape, but other than that it's a classic superman figure

My son is a Superman nut! So I got this for him for his 4th bday. Let me just say it is not to play with! I wish i had read the reviews before buying. His leg fell off the first night he had it. So while its a nice looking figure if you plan on giving it to a child to play with, don't. I'm very disappointed. I know it says collectible but I didn't think it would break. My son is not rough with his toys either. So Superman has a taped up leg now. He still plays with him but now he knows he has to be careful. Which is ironic because he's Superman, man of steel. I wish they would make a more durable, larger Superman action figure like they do for Iron Man, Spiderman ect. Also the price was only $15 when i bought it, the price of toy NOT an adult collectible!

First and foremost, you need to decide whether this figure is being purchased for a child to play with or for an adult to display. If it’s for a youngster you may want to consider something else. The knee joints are extremely fragile. But I am an adult collector, and I really enjoyed adding this Superman to my collection. The design nicely lends itself to a more retro - 1950's - television look. The chest emblem is bigger than George Reeves was, but this is fine by me as it further compliments the overall design.
