DC Universe Classics Series 5 Exclusive Action Figure Black Lightning Build Metallo Piece!

Black Lightning is part of a Wal Mart exclusive wave that had a low production run as Wal Mart was testing the waters previous to its full commitment to the line, hence its outrageous price. But beware, Mattel is rereleasing the whole wave in its original packaging together with its Build a Figure piece on May 17th. No reason to pay this price when you can get it online via Mattel's Matty site.

The whole wave has been rereleased today (June 15) through Matty, Mattel's online store, so don't buy this... Beware!!! The whole wave runs for seventy bucks, the six figures plus the CNC Metallo.

The reason Black Lightning & series 5 is so expensive is because Mattel decided to release it ONLY thru Wal-Mart- this was deliberate, of course, to make the series/wave much harder to come by. However, MANY Wal-Marts didnt even GET the series and the few that did got far smaller stocks than normal. This whole scheme was the result of greed and what you get for it is price gouging. The DC Universe Series, despite the "same" mold, is probably the best line of action figures made, even surpassing Marvel Legends (not the current Hasbro garbage). But this kind of stupidity and greed just takes the fun out of it. They CERTAINLY aren't worth $99.00! Let Mattel know youre on to them!

The Mattel line of DC Universe Classics is an excellent toy line, but these on-line retailers are ridiculous. These toys sell at Wal-Mart for $11.88 plus tax. What these people are trying to get ($60 plus per figure) is a total rip-off. AGAIN THESE SELL AT WAL-MART FOR REASONABLE PRICES DO NOT BUY FROM E-TAILERS/SCALPERS TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF. They may claim these are scarce but Wal-Mart is a major store to put it mildly. Just be patient and keep asking your store for these products and you will save big. Why should you pay over $60 when these guys didn't pay over $15?
