I ordered three of these spoons for gifts. One was perfect, the other two have small defects in the wood on the inside of the heart-shaped bowl (small nicks out of the wood). Amazon can only refund the price, not exchange them. I am very disappointed!! The spoons are adorable, but who wants to give gifts with defects?? The packaging around the spoons was perfect. The problem is obvious. Someone allowed the spoons to leave the factory in China in less than perfect condition. Bad quality control. A word of warning!

I saw this spoon in Carmel at the Carmel Bay Company and fell in love with it immediately -- had to have it! It's a beautiful wooden spoon, well made, and quite functional considering it's shaped like a heart. I use it often and love the way it scoops up lots of food to dish out. Also, my guests love it and always comment on it. It cleans up well -- it is wood so take care of it by oiling with vegetable oil.
