I have fine, thin hair. Thought this was just what I needed to blow dry daily. bristles are clear plastic and poke out at least 1/2 inch. The brush works, but is fairly cheaply made, and the bristles are just annoying to me. They scratch, are very stiff and poke my scalp when the brush is rolled against my head.
I would NOT buy this again.

I'm Asian and has very straight hair, so maybe it's just me, but it didn't do much for me
