I didn't realize it, but the "3" in the title meant that the barrel diameter is 3"! So the total diameter of this brush with the bristles is 5"! I can't imagine anyone needing a brush that big. Other than that, it looks to be a nice brush, just be forewarned about the size.

I have been using this same exact brush for about 4 or 5 years and I love it. I have very curly hair but straighten it every day and most people I know are SHOCKED when they see pics that prove I actually do have curly hair! With this brush I dont have a need for a straightening iron (except for very humid days). The size of this brush is large but thankfully not heavy. What is so great about it is it's easy to get the bend out of your hair because of the large surface area. It basically serves the same purpose as a paddle brush but allows you to rotate, which is essential for getting hair straight. I have always wondered who these people are who write reviews on amazon....then i noticed that this amazing brush only had 2 stars and felt I had to represent!

PS, great for long hair.

Although the brush was what I wass looking for, it is so large in diameter - I can't use it - I am not sure if I overlooked the size in the post but I can't seem to find it - anyway, a beautiful brush but way too big.
